UK manufacturing PMI surprisingly advanced in June

The manufacturing PMI recorded an unexpected rise to a level of 52.10 in June, in the UK, compared to market expectations of a fall to a level of 50.10. The manufacturing PMI had recorded a revised reading of 50.40 in the prior month.

Euro-zone manufacturing PMI advanced in June

In June, the final manufacturing PMI in the Euro-zone rose to a level of 52.80, compared to a reading of 51.50 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had indicated a rise to 52.60. Markets were expecting the manufacturing PMI to advance to a level of 52.60.

Euro-zone unemployment rate fell in May

In the Euro-zone, the unemployment rate registered a drop to 10.10% in May, meeting market expectations. The unemployment rate had registered a reading of 10.20% in the previous month.

German manufacturing PMI recorded a rise in June

In June, the final manufacturing PMI in Germany recorded a rise to 54.50, compared to a level of 52.10 in the previous month. The preliminary figures had indicated an advance to 54.40. Markets were expecting manufacturing PMI to advance to a level of 54.40.

French manufacturing PMI registered a drop in June

The final manufacturing PMI fell to a level of 48.30 in June, in France, higher than market expectations of a fall to a level of 47.90. In the previous month, manufacturing PMI had registered a reading of 48.40. The preliminary figures had indicated a drop to 47.90.

Italian manufacturing PMI surprisingly climbed in June

The manufacturing PMI climbed unexpectedly to 53.50 in Italy, in June, compared to a level of 52.40 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the manufacturing PMI to record a steady reading.

Italian unemployment rate slid surprisingly in May

Unemployment rate recorded an unexpected drop to a level of 11.50% in Italy, in May, lower than market expectations of a rise to a level of 11.70%. In the previous month, unemployment rate had recorded a revised level of 11.60%.

Spanish manufacturing PMI climbed in June

In Spain, the manufacturing PMI rose to a level of 52.20 in June, compared to a reading of 51.80 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the manufacturing PMI to climb to 52.00.

Swiss SVME manufacturing PMI dropped in June

In June, the SVME manufacturing PMI in Switzerland recorded a drop to 51.60, lower than market expectations of a fall to a level of 55.30. The SVME manufacturing PMI had registered a level of 55.80 in the prior month.

Swiss real retail sales declined in May

In Switzerland, real retail sales dropped 1.60% in May on a YoY basis. In the prior month, real retail sales had fallen by a revised 2.20%.

US ISM manufacturing activity index climbed in June

The ISM manufacturing activity index climbed to 53.20 in the US, in June, higher than market expectations of an unchanged reading. In the previous month, the ISM manufacturing activity index had registered a reading of 51.30.

US Markit manufacturing PMI rose in June

Compared to a level of 50.70 in the previous month, the final Markit manufacturing PMI rose to a level of 51.30 in June, in the US. The preliminary figures had recorded an advance to 51.40. Market anticipation was for the Markit manufacturing PMI to advance to a level of 51.20.

US ISM backlog orders registered a rise in June

Compared to a level of 47.00 in the prior month ISM backlog orders in the US recorded a rise to 52.50 in June.

US construction spending unexpectedly eased in May

In May, construction spending unexpectedly fell 0.80% in the US on a monthly basis, lower than market expectations for an advance of 0.60%. In the previous month, construction spending had dropped 1.80%.

US ISM prices paid index eased surprisingly in June

In June, the ISM prices paid index in the US recorded an unexpected drop to a level of 60.50, lower than market expectations of a steady reading. In the prior month, the ISM prices paid index had recorded a reading of 63.50.

US ISM production climbed in June

In the US, ISM production recorded a rise to 54.70 in June. In the prior month, ISM production had recorded a level of 52.60.

US ISM inventories recorded a rise in June

In June, ISM inventories in the US climbed to 48.50. In the prior month, ISM inventories had recorded a reading of 45.00.

US ISM new orders climbed in June

ISM new orders rose to a level of 57.00 in June, in the US, compared to market expectations of an advance to a level of 55.90. In the prior month, ISM new orders had recorded a level of 55.70.

Japanese vehicle sales advanced in June

On an annual basis, vehicle sales rose 3.00% in Japan, in June. In the prior month, vehicle sales had advanced 6.60%.

Japanese monetary base climbed in June

In June, on an annual basis, the monetary base in Japan advanced 25.40%. The monetary base had registered a rise of 25.50% in the prior month.

Japanese consumer confidence index recorded a rise in June

The consumer confidence index advanced to 41.80 in June, in Japan, compared to a reading of 40.90 in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the consumer confidence index to rise to 41.10.
