Looking at these results - there's potential for a 4 Taka payout this year. That's still 2.9p, or 2p+ after Bangladeshi tax.
And an after tax yield of 6%+.

We're flying along here in Taka terms. The only headwind is Taka weakness, but eventually that's bound to show up in stronger exports.

While we expect these headwinds to remain for the foreseeable future, the year-on-year improvement in profitability demonstrates the resilience and strength of our business as we continue to provide high-quality, affordable medicines to patients in Bangladesh and around the globe. We will stay focused on executing on our growth strategy for the remainder of the year and look forward to providing a further update at our full-year results."

(Exchange rates of £1 = Taka 138.2585 for 31 March 2024 numbers and £1 = 128.0900 for 31 March 2023 have been used in this announcement.)

The Taka is starting to recover a bit on International money markets. This should add a bit of stability here going forward, allow management a better view of export revenue and import costs, and result in a greater £ translation of profits.

Looks like a "steady as she goes" Managing Director appointment. I'm not expecting anything radical from a 47 year in the industry veteran.

I have just looked at my ii account and yesterday they have credited per share 2.54c that is in USD. With ii you have to convert forex yourself or leave it in USD if you wish. I have looked at last years CTC and it shows that 20% tax was deducted before the dividend was paid to me. I'm not sure if the tax was offset against UK tax or not it will be June before I see my accountant I will ask him then about this years and how it was treated last year.

jane deer,

Thank you. I do not know anything of Bangladeshi tax law but, absent a Double Tax agreement between Bangladesh and the UK, I am sure that the tax deducted in Bangladesh will prove to be a credit against a liability to income tax in the UK.

I see that HL has booked the dividend now into my account. I had been on the look out for it but I only saw it today, but I can't rule out it was paid before. HL have booked it as of 8 February (so I guess they have back dated the dividend payment). I hold the shares in a taxable account (not SIPP nor ISA). The amount I received is 1.99p per share, while I see BoNY Mellon is saying they paid out 2.54p - implying a withholding tax of around 22%. Do others know is this the standard Banglasdeshi withholding tax rate and is this offsettable against UK tax?

I looked at APH and it looked overpriced compared to BXP.

Will buy more BXP at the current price.
