.....Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited ("Beximco Pharma", "BPL" or "the Company"), the fast-growing manufacturer of generic pharmaceutical products and active pharmaceutical ingredients, today announces the launch of the world's first generic version of Pfizer's COVID-19 treatment Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir and ritonavir tablets, co-packaged for oral use) which was granted emergency use authorization (EUA) by the US FDA on 22 December 2021. Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), Bangladesh, has today granted EUA for the oral antiviral drug to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults and children of 12 years and above. This novel antiviral pill showed almost 90% efficacy in preventing hospitali z ations and deaths in high-risk patients, and recent data from Pfizer suggests the drug retains its effectiveness against the fast-spreading Omicron variant of the coronavirus. Beximco Pharma will market this product under the brand name Bexovid, initially in Bangladesh.

What an announcement!

World's first generic version of Pfizer pill.

If this was a better known pharma market reaction would be off the scale.

Quiet time generally for market news, hopefully we'll get very decent press coverage.

Fantastic yield, chart breakout too, profitable and low enough p/e!

On dividend payment questions, the company did drop an RNS on Christmas Eve to say that it will be paid on or before the 20th January. My past experience is that it can take time to filter into accounts, so it may need some patience.

Hopefully, BXP can roll this out to other countries outside of Bangladesh.

Great Q1 results. No wonder the company elected to pay the entire dividend in cash this year! And Q1 doesn’t included any vaccine uplift.

Will analyse in more detail later.

Launch of oral product for treating Covid.Although they don't anticipate a material impact on next numbers, if the product is approved in more countries (already approved in UK) I suspect that could and will change dramatically!Well done BXP!

Microscope, I'd agree that it looks like a cup and handle on the year to date chart.
I'd be looking at an upwards channel as a shorter-term chart pattern, with a 105 break leading to 112 end of year target, and a June/July target of 130.

Sorry ceaser I simply don't know. Chart is close to a breakout. For the geeky, looks to me like a lovely cup and handle on the longer term chart may be completing

Looks like the "vaccine bonus" is now delayed until next year.
BUT, with the likelihood of an annual booster being needed for larger parts of the population, Covid vaccine should be a recurring cash cow for the Company going forward.

Agree they are buys - was quoted 94.888 for £5k or 96p for £10k.. we should get a heads up on the full years results by end of this month.

Well now 2.54 (Taka) in Dhaka and if anything picking up speed over there. Although ADVFN showing lots of sells Fri and Mon at 94.5p here in London these were actually buys I know this as many were mine (again). With the Sanofi acquisition now in the bag and India releasing vaccines again (Oct-Dec) suspect we will get an announcement regarding AZ vaccine resume imports to Bangladesh any day. Am surprised we are still below a £1 here but I continue to fill my very full boots ........

A bargain, especially if the "30% of profits given back to shareholders" rule kicks in.
