Lost Creek to be Missouri's largest wind energy development MADISON, Wis., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- RMT, the leader in wind energy development, engineering, and construction, has been awarded balance-of-plant engineering and construction work for Wind Capital Group's (WCG) Lost Creek Wind Farm located in DeKalb County, Missouri. With a nameplate generating capacity of 150 MW, Lost Creek is the largest wind energy development in Missouri and RMT's fifth wind project in the state. RMT will be providing engineering, procurement, and civil and electrical infrastructure construction to support the installation of 100 1.5-MW GE SLE turbines on the site. The civil and electrical infrastructure includes roads, crane paths and pads, turbine foundations, an underground collector system, in-tower wiring, and the construction of two meteorological towers. RMT is also responsible for mechanical turbine completion, tower erection, and testing and inspections. "The Lost Creek Wind Farm will not only create a clean energy resource, it will generate manufacturing, construction, and maintenance jobs. We chose RMT to design and construct this facility because they have a proven track record of efficiently and safely constructing renewable energy facilities," said WCG President Tom Carnahan. WCG is scheduled to break ground on the Lost Creek Wind Farm in August 2009. Upon completion, the facility will have the capacity to generate enough electricity to power approximately 45,000 homes and offset 270,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide that would otherwise be emitted from a coal- powered plant. Owned and operated by WCG, Lost Creek will sell electricity to Associated Electrical Cooperative, Inc. (AECI), a provider of energy to six regional and 51 local electric cooperatives in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Iowa. About RMT RMT creates energy and environmental solutions that balance our clients' business and sustainability goals. Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, the company has over 900 employees located in offices throughout the US and UK. RMT's WindConnect team has provided construction, engineering, design, and development services for over 3,400 MW of wind energy across the US. RMT is a unit of Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE:LNT), an energy holding company. Visit http://www.rmtinc.com/. DATASOURCE: RMT, Inc.
