American Airlines(R) and Hilton HHonors Worldwide(R) to Award
Millions of HHonors(R) Points and AAdvantage(R) Miles
3rd Annual American Way(R) Road Warrior Search
FORT WORTH, Texas, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- American Way, American Airlines(R)
award-winning inflight magazine, launched the 3rd Annual Road Warrior Search on
June 1. This year, American Airlines is talking a language that real Road
Warriors will understand. The Grand Prize winner will not only be profiled in
American Way magazine and receive other great awards, but will also fly away
with 1 million AAdvantage(R) miles and 2 million Hilton HHonors(R) bonus
points.
Throughout June and July, readers are invited to enter the contest by logging
on to http://www.americanwaymag.com/roadwarrior . After completing a few
contact and survey-style questions, Road Warriors are asked to answer three
essay questions -- plus an optional bonus question -- the results of which are
key components in the judging process according to American Way Editor Sherri
Burns.
"There's a real art to traveling well," said Burns. "In the past two American
Way Road Warrior contests, we've reviewed over 15,000 entries. Frequent
business travelers relay a perspective that's truly inspiring. It's certainly
not all glitz and glamour, but it's purposeful. And these travel industry VIPs
are poetic and profound in the way they describe their insights, experiences
and tips.
"This year, we're looking for them to move beyond the intricacies of travel and
show us their creative and humorous sides."
The contest's essay questions include: "Write a jingle or slogan that best
expresses your approach to life as a Road Warrior," and "Which 10 to 12 songs
would be on your Road Warrior soundtrack?"
"We recognize that Hilton HHonors points are a powerful motivator," said Mary
Beth Parks, vice president of marketing for HHonors. "When you put two million
of them out there, and combine it with a million AAdvantage miles, there's no
telling how creative these Road Warriors will be!
"After all, depending on how you elect to use them, 2 million Hilton HHonors
bonus points can equate to 200 room nights, and a million American Airlines
AAdvantage miles can translate to 40 free domestic coach class round trips."
Parks added that bonus points could be used at any participating Hilton Family
hotel in the world. Hilton Family brands include: Hilton(R), Conrad(R),
Doubletree(R), Embassy Suites Hotels(R), Hampton Inn(R), Hampton Inn &
Suites(R), Hilton Garden Inn(R), Hilton Grand Vacations Club(R), Homewood
Suites by Hilton(R) & Scandic.
If you're curious to find out just how the winner will use all that free
travel, pick up the special American Way Road Warrior-theme issue, which will
be available on all American and American Eagle flights January 1 through
January 14, 2005. The Grand Prize winner and four other winners will be
