Could Japan Be About To Invest In Zambeef Expansion? | FinanceFollow @AfricaBizReview on Twitter. During a visit to Zambeef's Chisamba facility, the Japanese Ambassador to Zambia, Kiyoshi Koinuma has indicated that Japanese investment could be used to radically expand food production and feed a significant number of people in the area.Zambeef Products is by far the largest agribusiness company in the country and is involved in every step in the food chain – from rearing to slaughtering, to processing, and retailing. They are also responsible for growing a significant amount of wheat, maize, and soy.Zambeef CEO Francis Grogan also accompanied the Ambassador to the facility which is an hour's drive from the county's capital, Lusaka. He said: "Japan has vast wealth and technology, we in Zambia have vast natural resources, specifically in the food business we have huge opportunities to process food, value add food and distribute food to the region."Mr Grogan also hinted at expansion on an epic scale; a partnership that could potentially "feed the 400 million" suggests that production could well come to expand into neighbouring regions, alleviating the conditions of millions more people. After several decades of economic decline, Zambia now contains a large, undernourished rural population, who struggle daily to secure even the most basic foodstuffs. Over 50 percent of children, and up to 30 percent of women of childbearing age suffer from anaemia. The delegation was composed of members of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in South Africa, Japanese companies in Zambia, Japan External Trade Organisation, Japan International Cooperation Zambia office, as well as the Embassy of Japan.Financial and technological investment will not only bring jobs to the region, but will also help eradicate the diseases associated with malnutrition and extreme poverty.  RELATED:Zambeef invest KS54 million in new dairy facilites:Zambeef shares tipped by leading investor publication:

https://www.daily-mail.co.zm/#article/21973Zambia Daily MailESTHER MSETEKA, LusakaNOVATEK Animal Feeds this year intends to increase production of stock feed to 15,000 tonnes per month from the current 13,000 tonnes due to a rise in demand.Novatek is a subsidiary of Zambeef Group of Companies, producing stockfeed for chickens, cattle, pigs, goats, sheep and fish.Zambeef Product's Novatek stock-feed division general manager Walter Roodt said the company will continue to support small-scale farmers to enhance the growth of livestock and aquaculture industries in the country.Mr Roodt said out of the 100 percent feed the firm produces, 30 percent goes to the Zambeef value chain to feed pigs, poultry and cattle while 70 percent is sold to farmers across Zambia and the southern African region. He said this during a tour of Novatek plant by local journalists and a delegation of public and private sector experts on a World Bank south-to-south study exchange visit from Mauritania last week."In 2013, Novatek increased its capacity by 30 percent, adding a mash mixing plant and broadening our product offering to include macro packs of premixed minerals, vitamins and concentrates that farmers can mix with their own [product to make]... broiler, pullet, layer and pig feeds," Mr Roodt said.In 2014, we increased stockfeed pelleting capacity by 50 percent with the addition of a second pelleting line; a technology primarily used to make broiler feeds and improves the efficiency and quality of the feeds, thus reducing the amount of feed required. He also said that Novatek recorded a decrease in export earnings from K34.3 million in 2013 to K27.1 million last year due to challenges to fully penetrate international markets such as Zimbabwe.Currently, the firm is exporting to Malawi, Mozambique and Namibia, among other neighbouring countries.Earlier, delegation leader Haroune Sidatt said Novatek is a model example to other countries in Africa intending to grow their livestock industry.Mr Sidatt said Mauritania, which has a population of two million, currently exports live animals and imports animal feed with national herd of six million goats and sheep, four million cattle and 2.5 million camels. He said despite such figures, the country does not have a value-addition programme like that of Zambeef Products.Meanwhile, Tryness Mbale reports that the Choma District Dairy Cooperative Union and Milk Collection Centre and Czech Republic Development Agency (CDA) have launched an animal feed production project for the farmers to have a stable supply feed throughout the year. The project will be funded by the Czech Republic Development Cooperation and is aimed at developing the capacity of the Choma District Dairy Union Co-operative and Monze Dairy Farmers Cooperative Union member farmers in production of feed for dairy cattle. This is according to the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) Friday brief availed to the Daily Mail last week.Under the project, farmers will also be educated on appropriate use of agricultural equipment for animal feed production from 2014-17.The project dubbed 'Appropriate and Stable Fodder Production for Dairy Cattle on Small Scale Farms' was launched last week."The newly-launched project will significantly support the local dairy farmers considering that most of them are traditional cattle keepers. The farmers acknowledged that fodder production will certainly bring change to local dairy farms by integrating a stable feeding system throughout the year," the statement reads.

Nice support at 15p, with profit takers out on Friday this bodes well for the continuation phase, it got momentum chapsNow every one look at the chart think that it is 50% up from where directors bought and 80% up from the 1y low so they might hesistate in taking a position, but they don't take into consideration that the reason it went down from 35p because there was a big seller for month and only 2 weeks ago they have been taken out completely by directors purchases. So even profit takers woun't make an impact the price and they will only pite their nails and blame themselves when this hits 35p soonKeep watching...

don't get fooled by the trades, example all the 14.75 big trades published yesterday were actually traded the earlly in the week and late reported to shake some who would think seller started againquite frankly, after the directors took the big seller out nothing really left for seller, mostly buys following following directors big movelast director sell was around 35p around 6-9 months ago and now they just loaded up again, go figure
