05/12/2007 13:33 | New charitable thread for failed WDNY investors.. | mrba5hir i
05/12/2007 13:32 | This is a thread for long suffering Widney investors. The latest results do little to help those poor souls who have held this stock since £1.20. Any good investment advice (or charitable financial contributions) would make a failed investor happy at Christmas. | mrba5hir i
05/12/2007 12:46 | You're a broken record. CR | cockneyrebel
05/12/2007 12:44 | Falling back down now.. | mrba5hir i
05/12/2007 12:39 | The fact that one of the disposals fell through is the reason the balance sheet isnt as strong as some hoped. Otherwise looks pretty good for a market cap of just over £3M. Creditors covered by debtors, confident outlook and over £0.9M operating profit. With 30M in revenues still looks a good recovery play to me at this market cap. | hugepants
05/12/2007 09:50 | WINS having a glitch. They've stopped quoting for all stocks. Must be a computer glitch. Hence the offer now showing 15.5p. WINS were on 15p. | cyberpost
05/12/2007 09:43 | charo: the small amount of debt is the inv discounting The fact that interest has been paid in H2 (£0.158m) suggests there is bank debt there. Let's say 6% for six months, suggests £1.3m - their stated debt at year end is £2.3m. So I'm still sceptical - the annual report will, I assume, explain. As for profits, FY continuing ops had (operating) profits of £0.94m, whilst H1 had £0.534m. So I'm not convinced that a H1 loss has been followed by a H2 profit (as per CR). We just have to take continuing operations, pre-exceptionals since the latter are so large. Anyway, if they can make £1m pbt next year (and no sizable exceptionals) that will be eps of around 4p/sh. (As far as I can see there won't be tax to pay for some time!!) So it all looks OK to me on a closer look ... will they be able to build the business and turnover? They seem to think so, and benefit of doubt, for now. | jonwig
05/12/2007 09:32 | LONDON (Thomson Financial) Widney claimed top-spot among small-cap risers, climbing nearly 15 pct, or 1-3/4 pence to 13-3/4 as recovery hopes at the automotive group offset news of sharply higher full-year pretax losses. The company is confident it will begin to rebuild over coming months since it is now substantially de-geared. The board proposes to double the final dividend to 1.0 pence per share in view of improved liquidity and current performance. | cyberpost |
