31/10/2007 14:52 | Thanks for the explanation ... so, maybe if I add it will be at a lower level, now! I'd like some update from the company, first. | jonwig

31/10/2007 14:32 | looks like someone has dumped a big amount. should appear later. EVO leading this down so they could well have taken the stock. | cyberpost
29/10/2007 08:50 | This morning's savage profit warning from Metalrax [MRX] might be bad news for WDNY's prospects, but also might be an opportunity if some stuff comes up for sale. MRX aren't an asset situation (NTA £38m with possible freehold revaluation, MCap ~£47m) to anything like the same degree as this one. | jonwig
24/10/2007 15:56 | And another thing ... an interim dividend of 0.5p has been paid; assuming a FY dividend of 1p, the yield stands at 7.4%. They have sufficient distributable reserves, and say that the rump is not only debt-free but also profitable. | jonwig
24/10/2007 14:42 | talk to others in their sectors .only good news .forget poison by interested parties .they under jg are very quickly positioning themselves to take advantage of competitor weakness in the current credit climate.typical grimmond.heard rmour today about important sale of obsolete plant, contac in major excavating machine manufacturer.major cash benefit no one thought possible. | charo
24/10/2007 13:58 | looks like the overhang has cleared | cyberpost
24/10/2007 11:05 | Hi, Callum ... yes, I've bought a few this morning. (Not normally a dog-lover!!) | jonwig
24/10/2007 10:42 | what is going on here - all this flurry of buying suggests others think this could be a bargain too, jonwig! | callumross
23/10/2007 15:34 | How much is that doggy in the window Woof woof The one with the waggely tail How much is that doggy in the window Woof woof I do hope that doggy's for sale ... could be a bargain! | jonwig

20/10/2007 08:54 | Fantastic call by loverat. To think he used to be the most hated poster on this board I regret giving him so much stick. a long time back Ratty is one savy investor. This stocks a dog. Yes a prize dog at that. | ba5hir is back
19/10/2007 12:42 | The slide business was not maintained. Dundee has not closed, they merely moved major production to Hungary. This could still be reversed due to logistical difficulties. Widney did have total control of the slides in NCR, however a global volume player has taken a substantial amount of business away. My sources indicates that for most of the year they shared 50/50 supply to all NCR plants. The new NCR machine does not have Widney product on it. Basically they are continueing to supply 50% of an obsoleted machine. Windows are doing well with the Volvo contract. At what margine? | arnold7
19/10/2007 11:54 | the slide business was maintained.widney supplies the hungarian ,chinese and indian plants .read the reports, also windows growing in importance. | charo
19/10/2007 10:14 | somebody has just sold 100k at 9p, yes 9p!!! That is scary. I am reluctant to hold on much longer with this dog. Charo, isn't Widney UK lossmaking now, as the cash machine business went down the pan when NCR in Dundee closed, didn't it? | callumross
19/10/2007 09:56 | charo you can buy upto 75k at a time for 12.4p (well below mid) and only sell 5k max. Classic signs of an overhang. Has been the case ever since it was c.21p. | cyberpost
19/10/2007 09:54 | no real stock around.this company has lots of shaeholders with a few thousand and if they want to sell are pushing price down.no serious buying will take place until future strategy is made clear.the critics decided the board misled the market but every announcment back to 2005 made it clear what was occuring.the business was devastated by the unexpected loss of the cab contracts.as grimmond said without the actions taken the group would have folded. certain announcements are forced on the board when at times i am sure they would have preferred to wait untill events had completed. again look at history chairman and fd worked as team forover 15 years buy assets cheap make them work and either sell on or make them pay in divs. at 7.5 p i have had my money back in divs and believe they will again rebuild starting with this years finals.remember pressings cost nothing and earning around 500k give credit where due.rollercoaster sure but they are not spivs or cheats .the board has done what they had to. | charo
19/10/2007 09:26 | I think its dropping because of as massive stock overhang which has yet to be cleared. The drop has very little to do with the business. Its more to do with too much stock wanting to be cleared with few buyers. | cyberpost |
