                            MAJOR INTEREST IN SHARES

On 8 April 2008, Virotec International plc (the "Company") (AIM: VTI) received
notification from Hydrodec Group plc  ("Hydrodec") advising that on 4 April
2008, Hydrodec purchased 400,000 shares at 10 pence per share, and this purchase
increased Hydrodec's total interest in the Company to 8.15 million ordinary
shares, representing approximately 3.06 per cent.
