06/12/2001 11:43 | From Chairmans statement recently....... Furthermore, the strategic advantages of the acquisition to the Group have been underlined by ABSCOA's relationship with Lockheed Martin and the benefits that will accrue from Lockheed's contract to develop the new Joint Strike Fighter for the US Department of Defense. TODAY LONDON (AFX) - Lockheed Martin Corp has won a seven year contract worth about 1.1 bln usd to maintain and upgrade the C-5 military transport plane, according to an announcement on the US Department of Defense website. Lockheed Martin will provide "reliability enhancement and re-engining, systems development and demonstration" in support of the C-5, the DoD said ABSCOA must be ideally placed to benefit from this deal with Lockheed. | internet bubble

15/11/2001 16:16 | With Rolls Royce being a major customer any upturn in RR's fortune will directly impact on UMC. This stock has been ticking up steadily over the 5 days, more to come. | internet bubble
22/11/1999 15:22 | Just in case anyone is interested (and it really doesn't appear so), it looks like in order that Umeco have the cash to work out the deal, they will have to sort out a refinance. FWIW ~ i still haven't dipped my toe in the water yet! regards Ant | ant
19/11/1999 19:00 | Ant. Sorry, can't help you on this one. Ring the company and ask to speak to the Finance Director who should be able to answer the basic questions, find out who else uses them and ring those companies, etc. | oddball

18/11/1999 15:03 | I have recently heard a whisper on the all too infamous grapevine about sole supplier talks between Rolls Royce (aerospace division) and UMECO. So the story goes RR are looking to save money by introducing the "Just In Time" production philosophy. This will be facilitated by UMECO buying all RR's consumables stock then setting up a consumables supply chain to RR when it is needed. i.e. all consumables purchases then going through UMECO. My problem with the story is this.. UMECO have recently bought two companies and hence are very highly geared. So could they afford to buy RR's consumables stock? (I also cant find a value to this stock) Secondly have UMECO got the infrastructure to facilitate such a considerable contract? Any views, opinions or input would be appreciated either on the board or by email. Regards Ant | ant |
