|barrie16: Yes, agreed keya. Share price so low nothing to lose.|
|barrie16: Zedman1 I too have tried quite a few times at emailing the company, as you rightly said no courtesy whatsoever. Professor Mughal doesn't give a toss about investor relations. He doesn't put any news out. What's been happening in the company??????? I have followed this company for years, and can say they've done nothing to increase the share price. I suppose the excuse for the poor figures(I assume they will be bad) in a few weeks time, will be the recession in Europe.|
|treacle32: Hi fido - yes we had the 1m buy at 1p the other week and now today over 600K buy which is v.large for UTN - don't come about in weeks.
We know with limited free float someone would have to buy in bits and drabs.
They were offering 0.90p on the bid at the close - a big premium for our shares so signs are v.good we'll break 1p tomorrow at the 2nd time of asking after the rises to 1.10p not long ago. I then referred to the MMs taking more than 2m sells at 0.90p which a first for UTN too and after the 1m buy and now today's large buy.
Someone hovering up stock up to and including 1p thus far. Coincidence when so much transformational newsflow is on the horizon. So undervalued with Cognito alone worth 1p on the share price. We have said a predator could strike but imo Akhtar will want the share price in double figures well before then. Then RTO Silicon CPV into UTN to make us a very big entity and then see what the market thinks.|
|treacle32: Hi barrie - they'll be huge advantages for shareholders especially Akhtar.
As its the same people running the show even more benefits including next to nothing costs.
To get instituitions on board and to go very global imo they'll do it at some point and should propel the share price to even higher.
I think they'll do it once green is successful via UTN.
Currently drip feeding stuff via UTN - and now lots of newsflow expected. If them contracts are meaty double figures here we come on the share price. Then do RTO for next wave. The silicon cpv website shows the ambition of going global. If they're going to do it then will require a stock market listing - the guy holds 40% here.
Important to remember they could easily sell cognito for a good few million pounds too.|
|gnnmartin: I attended the AGM (the only unconnected shareholder there). I don't expect news soon from Mexico. There are enthusiasts there for the UTN proposals, but there are also opposition voices. At this remove it is not possible to see exactly what the issues are, but I guess it is arguments about where the Mexico government should spend its money. The SAfrica offering was in the process of construction on site at the time of the AGM, so hopefully is ready for delivery soon, if not already delivered.
I asked if the board could say why the share price was so low, and was told that two large shareholders have been selling their holding. IIRC, one has now sold out (though don't rely on me for that!), and I expect that the share price is recovering because the other has sold out too, or has decided to hold for something better. That is the reason IMO why you could buy 500,000 shares a few weeks ago, but can only buy 50,000 or so now without moving the price. (I haven't tried, I'm just going on fido's post 4147). I don't expect significant news soon, though of course I hope I am wrong and good news from SArabia would be nice. The bounce can easily be exploited by pump and dump brigade, so caveat emptor.
PS. I've just noticed that both SArabia and SAfrica abbreviate to SA. Anyone know of another country with the same initials. If so, perhaps UTN should try their luck there too. :-o|
|fido: It looks today like the market wants to push this higher on next to nothing trades (who the hell would buy 10 shares), so it could well be that news is due near term but we will see.
Let me just address the end game here and make a point.
Much has been said about the time that has passed with no relative share price performance. That time passing has been felt by Akhter and his family likewise with UTN shares being brought by their pension pots.
There comes a time when a cosy retirment needs to be considered and the shares will need to perform to sustain that retirement.
Akhter will therefore have two choices in that regard. He can either make this a successfull company, transforming its earnings and shareprice OR he can sell it out to someone else who can.
At the moment the jury is still out about the first option, with any International success being truly transformational to UTN due to its tiny market cap.
On the second option of selling out, news the other day from Centrica I found to be of interest as they have a history of buying small companies and using their marketing power to quickly expand profits.
The aquisition the other day was for 32m and UTN are a fraction of that.
Would Centrica be interested in UTN?
If Centrica wants to push the green side of the business which it seems it does then yes it is entirely possible and that would give Akhter and his family the pension pot worth the wait.
Centrica news was as follows:
29 July 2014
CENTRICA ENTERS RAPIDLY GROWING US RESIDENTIAL SOLAR MARKET THROUGH ACQUISITION OF ASTRUM SOLAR
Centrica plc's North American subsidiary, Direct Energy, has acquired the US residential solar business, Astrum Solar, for US$54 million (£32 million).
Astrum Solar designs, installs and maintains solar power generating equipment for use in the home. It currently has around 4,000 customers, predominantly in the US Northeast and California, and in 2014 is expected to generate around US$40 million of revenue. The company was founded in 2008 and is one of the fastest growing residential solar energy companies in the United States.
This acquisition provides Direct Energy with the opportunity to expand the range of products offered to its customers, selling solar alongside energy and services.
Direct Energy President and CEO Badar Khan said: "We are excited at the potential of the Astrum Solar business in a rapidly growing market and we are delighted to be adding solar power to the range of energy options we already offer our customers. This acquisition fully aligns with our vision of using new technology and innovation to help our customers gain greater control over their energy use."|
|maysun: Professor's family and their pension fund hold 40% of shares in issue, PIs hold remaining 60%, about 170m shares.
I totally agreed that the share price performance has been poor, I hold because I believe it will come good one day.
Past is past, I like to focus on here and now.
Cognito made £300k of profit in 2013, that's an earning of 0.1pps, on a pe of 10, this division alone should worth 1pps.
The share price is trading around 0.5pps, that's why I said anyone buy now get a cheap Cognito and have a Green Energy start up throw in for free.
If one cares to look closely at the content of the silicon cpv website, the company does show a lot of interesting potential moving forward. Market condition has improved, solar technology on the advance and UTN products sold and intalled and gradually gaining momentum. For anyone willing to take the plunge, now seems a good time to do it, AIMHO of course.
In addition, there are about 5m households sutiable for Renewable heat installation, if UTN can get a small slice of that will be good for the share price|
|maysun: Green energy has potential:
1. Oasis for communication tower in KSA out performed.
2. Larger version of Oasis commissioned this month in Pilansberg game reserve.
3. Renewable heat pump comes to market later this year.
4. Trying to sell Oasis to mining companies in SA.
Advance in Solar technology:
1. Solar already achieved grid parity in some countries.
2. Utility power charges will go up with time as solar energy cost is coming down with time.
3. Shortage of power on the increase, UK utility companies considering offering money for big user to cut back on consumption at peak time.
4. Home solar system can be grid connected and makes money from surplus energy generated.
5. Stand alone (off grid) solar systems make grid connection redundant.
6. Silicon CPV is working on producing more cost effective new solar solutions
with various Universities.
Climate changes will be a big factor in driving solar installation:
In past couple of years, extreme weathers world wide will focus political minds
to drive up solar popularity. EU commission aim to have 20% of energy from Renewable source by 2020, recurrence of weather related disaster will only help to
accelerate implementation of scheme.
Cheaper solar means it no longer dependent on Tariff subsidy and will be eventually cheaper than conventional energy source to install and run.
UTN sells its system outside USA, so it won't be affected by any solar trade wars between China and USA.
When solar is cheap enough, UTN can restart its Italian solar farm project.
UTN adopts a 2 prone approach: selling complete system to end users and selling energy to clients using its Oasis systems.
UTN is aiming to gain a foot hold on as many emerging countries as soon as possible.
Generating power in remote mining site is a big problem for mining companies, hope UTN can be successful in this particular sector - big market out there.
Anyone buys UTN shares now at 0.5 pps is getting Cognito on the cheap and Solar Energy for free. e-bikes has been a big drain on cash in past years, however, with cost cut back and improve sales (if company manages to turn this around), it can become a good business asset for the company.
The last company account stated clearly that the company has sufficient fund for at least 12 months from year end report, so this rules out any share dilution in short term. As long as Cognito maintains the £300k of profit p.a, there will be no need for any fund raising. A point worth bearing in mind, UTN has only 280m share in issue, the company market cap will only value at £10m if the share price goes up 7 folds to 3.5pps. All things considered,IMHO, the share is a good medium term recovery investment opportunity for those who understand the risks involved.
Share price has been poor in the past years, however, is it wise to ignore the obvious potentials ready to pounce? I expressed my biased view, the investment decision is yours, you are boss of your hard earn cash, and good luck to all!!!
Footnote: Stock market bubbles in different market sectors throughout its history, is the next one be Green Energy? GLA!!!|
It appears the MM's work the system to their advantage. Maybe we will see the UTN share price rise to 5p+ in 2014!! HNY to you Barrie|
|maysun: What if UTN manages to JV into major chunk of the 500MW Morocann Solar opportunity?
What if UTN solar manitans or accelerates the rate of Solar or Heat pump installation in the UK?
What if the Spanish governement funded trail is succssful an brings more installation there?
What if the Italian Green House solar project is a success in 2013, will UTN grows vegeatable inside it? Will the Italain like Solar Organic produce?
Will UTN win the innovative EU Farmer award?
Who gives a F, as long as the sun keeps rising in the East and UTN share price is fully energised in one of those Sunny day!!!!! LOL!!!!|
