Mughal hasn't been working for UTN shareholder benefit for many years. It doesn't look as though we will gain by the sale of cognito that is not right. I thought Cognito had grown over the last few years and was making a profit? Mughal will benefit and the small shareholder will be shafted. Was MAYSUN part of the UTN setup that's what I would like to know????

The AGM is on Monday, but with a start time of 10:30 I doubt that there will be any shareholders present, other than those employed by UTN. :-( I had planned to go until I saw the time.

The management of Ultima have done nothing for UTN for the past fifteen years. they should be ashamed of their record at Ultima Networks. The Stigologist... I wouldn't be surprised if Maysun abd fido were connected to utn. I don't think Fido is the same person who started this BB.

You took the words out of my metaphorical mouth, zedman. That is an impressively bad set of results.

The amortisation of the IT division surely deserves a word or two of explanation. It looks as though UTN have decided to write off a lot of development, but if that is the case, why not say so? And if it is not, why the sudden jump in amortisation?

Sadly, this is one to forget. :-(

The FT reports that Brompton are expected to introduce an electric version of their folding bike that incorporates kinetic energy recovery. UTN decided KERS was not worth the effort, which I have sympathy with but was disappointed by all the same. Winchester has quite a few steep roads and I would like to have KERS to even them out.

The FT reports "About 854,000 electric bikes were sold in Europe in 2012, with sales in Germany making up almost half the total. In China they are already a big business, with sales of about 37m in 2013.
About one in 10 bicycles sold in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland are pedal electric bikes — also known as “pedelecs” — a healthier version whereby the electric power only assists the human power instead of replacing it." Such a pity that UTN couldn't make it pay.

flexton,
I have known companies being taken over for their patents.
I still say as stupid as it sounds that there is a chance that UTN will be swallowed up by Centrica who are looking to add to their green credentials and lately brought a £30 m company in the US that fits solar panels to rooftops.
By UTN having a broad spectrum of green projects, that would make them atractive to Centrica as a one company fits all UK solution. As I said before, how many Infinium bikes would be sold if they were being markeded by Centrica. Centrica could make a fortune marketing UTN`s products by using their marketing clout and buying UTN would give them entry into other countries via Akhters contacts.
Not saying that it will happen but it is a possibility.

Many years ago I held a substantial quantity of a company called Surrey group. They were a tiny £2m betting company but they had a betting license in the Isle of Man. That £2m company was taken over by Sky betting just so Sky could gain the Isle of Man license. A little bit of research will show you what happens to the shares of a £2m company when its taken over by the likes of Sky.
A Centrica takeover of UTN would have the same result.

Barrie, Flexton,

If I remember correctly; I bought about 1 million shares at 7 pps many years ago when UTN installed the First Solar system in a school nort part of England.

My average is around 1.6pps now, with the holding I have, 3pps will make handsome profit. However, this is a medium and long term recovery investment play for me, will hold on and hope for a higher price.

If Akhter doesn't want Utn part of his Solar business equation, why doesn't he just sell and instal the Solars with Silicon CPV, why bother to involve UTN?
All these years, Silicon has to baby sit and hand carry UTN along!

I also remember couple of year ago, Akhter requested to has Utn name change, but didn't succeed, may be he thought it has become unnecessary, he can use Silicon CPV or Akhter Solar just as well.

Of course, its speculative thought on my part, but its base on my research and biased logic.

Time will tell and I prepare to wait in happy silence.

Treacle32,
The problem with quoting 10p right now to all the long term holders is that this share has not done much for such a long time, that many find the concept of this company multiplying by 10 a little unbelievable and given the amount of years this company has stagnated you have to be understanding of that. That does not mean that this company`s day is not about to come however and that day all depends on contracts being signed, How many times have you looked in disbelief as a company`s shares have rocketed as a result of winning a contract and wished you had been in at the start. With UTN we are looking at a number of contract talks in different countries and these would probably leed to follow on contracts which would have a spectacular effect on the shareprice but the contracts need to be signed and you must forgive those who think its all not possible. Personally I find it harder to believe that things won`t happen because talks have been on going for some time and we appear to be on the cusp of some potentially transformational news for the following reasons.

The passing of the energy bill in Mexico will not only allow for the schools contracts but will also allow UTN to be involved in a host of other solar projects within the country. Mexico is very keen to push on with this so I expect news sooner rather than later and if not released with results then in the near term.

In Saudi the pilot project has exceeded expectations and we are now awaiting firm orders.

In South Africa the pilot scheme has been evaluated now for a year so again we now expect firm orders.

All these projects have now been properly evaluated by the different countries and it is now decision time.Contracts could be announed at any time in the near term and if they are as big as they could possibly be and thus transform UTN`s revenues then the market will re evaluated UTN but only after marking UTN`s shares up by a massive amount.
The good thing is that after all this time waiting for UTN to do something, I think that the time is near.
We will see.
