alan, that is a good idea to put all the mongs into one classroom, I had a similar idea resettling all gingers onto the planet mars - the red planet. I am awaiting a reply from NASA on that one.

Thorpematt, bless you, it does help. I am currently correlating the drop in the value of share portfolios to an increase in wife beatings, would you and your wife like to take part? Warrant Buffet has signed up.

STARFISHPRIME,
Sometimes I go to the supermarket with the missus. Not very often I must add, but sometimes. Anyway whenver I am there i always ask her the same question whilst we're in the pet food aisle:

"Do we need any cat food?"

The reply is always the same:-

"No, we don't have a cat"

I don't know if this helps at all?

P.S Sorry to hear about your cat.

I don't think you'd find a classroom big enough for all the mongs who bought only to see the price drop. How about Warren Buffet's investment in Tesco as one example?

Thank you alan, soothing words indeed. But if you are a mong it does not make you feel better being put in a classroom with other mongs.

you seem to have the same market timing as me starfish lol but I would think if u had bought almost any stock last month it would be showing a loss some a lot more than others

I noticed one of the founders sold a chunk of share's recently could have caused an overhang which may not help

The overall share price performance over the last few years suggests the market is weary of this company. Furthermore, we all agree the business is cyclical so the shares will tank when sentiment turns. I would suggest we are nearer to that point than further away from it right now. All my opinion of course. Good luck if you hold.

You're a member of a very large club, Starfishprime. No point in beating yourself up with it.

Congratulations Sir Starfishprime once again I have bought at or near the top only to see the price drop quicker than something that drops quickly. I may now change my name to Sir Starfish-sub-prime.

If I had legs I would kick myself and if my cat were alive I would try and kick it too.

By the way does anybody want to buy some cat food?

Indeed, it doesn't take huge volumes to move this one. So you have more movement (high beta) generally.

Some taking of profits for some I would surmise.

Chart shows movement against the FTSE 100 (not an ideal sector comparison) but illustration of my point.

maybe some slow down but the price of steel has dropped and oil so its swings n roundabouts the only thing worrying me is the new/newish management team yes the chairman is still here so they have to prove themselves

A suggestion that things are slowing a tad wouldn't be a complete surprise but the shares are arguably discounting a less ebullient outlook given the share performance over the last six months or so.
