24/8/2016 10:04 | Dip yesterday and a rise today. Something is happening | a2584728
24/8/2016 09:47 | Yes. No volume, so assume the Amazon link has hit the press somewhere. | the drewster
24/8/2016 09:16 | Could they want our shares ?? | dickiebird2
23/8/2016 11:06 | I confess that I am not "the most positive I have been in a long time" ... but there is some hope that this could yet come good! | the drewster
23/8/2016 11:01 | The author of that blog is Pablo Fraile, Head of Product Marketing at Frontier Silicon. In his LinkedIn profile ( he is listed as having "Product roadmap ownership". So, this isn't the speculation of a junior engineer, but the words from the horse's mouth right at the top. | rob_evans
23/8/2016 10:46 | The Drewster > "What none of us know, is how this can or will be commercialised for Toumaz/Frontier - the all important "what's in it for us" question." I think my previous post answers that question - clearly TMS/FS see their opportunity is to offer a module for audio manufacturers that duplicates the functionality of Amazon Echo and Google Home, plus all the other services (Apple Music, Spotify, etc.) For the first time in a long time, I feel very positive about my holding in TMZ. If they can pull this off, the sky is the limit. Who would buy an Amazon Echo or Google Home device if you could instead buy an audio device from the likes of Sony or Roberts or Sonos, that had the functionality of both plus lots more? | rob_evans
23/8/2016 10:04 | Very interesting comments re Amazon & Google, and where TMZ fit in. Edit: Key comment I think is this - "Implicit in all this is the idea that Google and Amazon are building these devices as a means to enable a market, rather than to become hardware vendors. The challenge for audio manufacturers is, then, to deliver on the customer promise that their product will offer the same experience as the Google or Amazon version, and will do so for its lifetime." | rob_evans
23/8/2016 09:41 | Hope we have some good news got 750,000 of these GLA | dickiebird2
23/8/2016 09:40 | Yes i really do think behind the scenes a big deal is being done, though some tough areas at 3p and 4p to break through. | blueteam
23/8/2016 09:26 | Just got a quote to sell 80k although bid at 1.75 they quoted 2.06, so they still want yer stock. | niggle
23/8/2016 09:10 | I spoke with some fellow investors and we went through our collective notes regarding Amazon. They were mentioned by Anthony at the 2015 AGM and in various chats afterwards, so I am convinced we are involved in the Amazon Echo story. What none of us know, is how this can or will be commercialised for Toumaz/Frontier - the all important "what's in it for us" question. | the drewster
23/8/2016 08:20 | stocking up on the dip, news ahead. Good tie up will see this shoot up. | blueteam
22/8/2016 23:46 | Looks like Google announcement for audiocast is Imminent, glad to have loaded up early summer, though it was in the bucked but now breaking even again. | duxy786_2
22/8/2016 19:28 | So that's why 500,000 buy OK trade. delayed with late publication request - they needed stock to fulfill it. Wonder who that was. | niggle
22/8/2016 16:18 | Why is the price up with the bid at 2p - MM's collecting stock? | niggle
22/8/2016 09:56 | we were definitely involved earlier in the project life cycle, though not aware there's been much in the way of recent confirmation that we still are. For what little it is worth, I strongly believe we ARE still involved, which could offer some hope of stellar returns after all! | the drewster
22/8/2016 09:19 | dunno if there's any toumaz tech involved? It's all happening in Cambridge though. | juleshoddy
21/8/2016 09:32 | Nod, as per my previous post, I think the markets are waiting for TMZ to make good on their promises after the disposal of the healthcare division. The share price has been higher in the past because of previous promises that did not materialise, especially in the case of Sensium, so the markets naturally want to see the firm deliver before they give a re-rating. The disposal of Sensium may be seen as a mixed bag by the IIs too. It's true that in the short-term they have lost a cash drag on the business so they should be profitable soon. On the other hand, the IIs can also see a potential long-term cash cow has been sold off for peanuts. FWIW, I think the share price could be multiples higher than its current lowly level over the next 12 months, provided Google Cast does well and if we get a UK DAB switchover, which could happen in the same timeframe. The Govt could certainly use the money from selling off the analogue spectrum and DAB listenership is now close to the 50% threshold that is supposed to trigger the switchover. Even if they announce a 5-year transition for the DAB switchover, TMZ would feel the benefits immediately as radio manufacturers will stop making analogue sets straight away because nobody wants a product that is going to be redundant in a few years. Exactly the same effect was seen with the television switchover, with stores like Currys slashing the price of analogue TV sets to clear as soon as the switchover was announced. It will also give a boost to the DAB conversion units for analogue car radios, as there are millions of vehicles that will be on the road for years that have sets that won't work in the future. If it is an expensive car, owners may just switch their analogue set for digital; I can imagine trade-in deals being offered by the likes of Halfords to boost their in-car DAB sales. All of that would be good news for TMZ's revenues, with their 80% share of the DAB chip market. I am definitely tempted to top up my ISA with the shares at their current 2p level. | life of crime
20/8/2016 05:42 | The market doesn't seem to believe that TMZ are going to be flush with cash. It's been four weeks since the sale of SH was announced and the share price has not risen sharply as some posters had predicted in support of a sale. After some initial activity the daily trading has now settled back into its lacklustre pattern. No sign of instis keen to jump onboard. | nod
17/8/2016 16:14 | I agree, Drewster, that if we have been given accurate info, then TMZ should have £8M pa burning a hole in their pockets from now on. I think the market is once bitten, twice shy with the firm and want some evidence that the BoD are going to deliver on their forecasts. Although I still think they gave away Sensium for peanuts, when a JV would have been better in the long run, it does mean they can focus on the CEO's comfort zone and in the short to medium term they should be quite profitable. If Google Cast is a smash and we get a UK DAB switchover in the next 12 months, then the prospects for the firm (minus the cash drag of Sensium) should be given a mighty boost. I am considering topping up at these prices into my ISA. | life of crime
17/8/2016 08:58 | Sensium, or so it has been suggested, was "costing" the company £700k/month - now it's not. The group was supposed to be cashflow positive mid 2016 WITH Sensium. So you could argue that in the new streamlined configuration, we now have a turnover of £30m+ and free cash generation of c.£8m... and connected audio (and IOT) is now the blue sky potential. Does anyone actually believe that? The market clearly doesn't. | the drewster
06/8/2016 15:50 | It could be argued they already have a strong brand name in Frontier Silicon, which has been going for 15 years and has 80% of the DAB chip market. I'm sure that is the name they will go with in due course. I agree that the website could use a revamp, beyond removing the Sensium references, and should be a reasonably low cost exercise. It is the shop window for the firm and jazzing it up would do no harm. | life of crime
