23/2/2011 10:25 | sif12 .... oh I share your barclays frustrations as I have had many of them - but to balance at times they have really come through. I used to be in HSBC Investments which make Barclays look amazing. I think all online brokers have their moments and overall Barclays aren't that bad. Regards IHNC | ihavenoclue

23/2/2011 10:20 | fair point ihave, but wasnt able to trade yday afternoon, and it would be nice just once to be able to but with tdw in the morning! any suggestions for a better broker? self trade perhaps, although they do charge a management fee i think? anyway, well done to all those who did get some this morining.. thanks sif | sif12
23/2/2011 10:14 | sif12 ... depends which MMs are on the stock as to whether or not Barclays get a good price - or even get the stock at all. It rose so strongly first thing that the dealers may have not got a chance. Not that I am protecting Barclays but the trick is to buy when others don't want the stock, so you get a good price, then sell when everyone wants it :) The old "buy when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy" motto :) | ihavenoclue

23/2/2011 09:09 | Only 0.7% of the resource is in the measured category so its a bit early for Mr Sisay to be getting the calculator out The main problem is they've been mining this deposit for over 4 years now (and other companies had a go years before that) but TXR have never made an annual profit. In fact the losses have been quite staggering | bookiebuster
23/2/2011 08:51 | £50m odd market cap vs $8b asset....well thats interesting looks like it should be 50p now? John Sisay, Chief Executive Officer of TRG, commented: "As part of the ongoing strategic review, TRG is pleased to confirm a substantial 600 million tonnes Mineral Resource at Sierra Rutile, making it one of the largest natural rutile deposits in the world with an in-situ value, at current market prices, of almost US$8 billion. We will be working methodically over the coming months to evaluate a number of options available to expand production and derive maximum value from this substantial resource. Additionally, whilst early stage, the identification of rare earths in the tailings stockpiles that have been produced in the more than 30 years Sierra Rutile has been operating is potentially very positive for TRG's shareholders." | seagreen |
