from the AGM;

"We continue to assess a variety of options for using the funds (11million) received from insurers including investment in existing assets, the development of new growth projects or a return of capital to shareholders.

Work to assess which of these options will deliver the greatest long-term value to shareholders is ongoing and we will make a further announcement once this process has been completed."

sounds promising.

does seem like the price is being (deliberately?) suppressed, "provision to further strengthen shareholders rights in respect of an offer being made to take over the company" at the AGM on June 10th. Market cap of £32 million, with cash of £22 million!, hmmmmm.

I suppose the clue to how big the payout would be was in the prelim results:

"The Company successfully reached a Settlement Agreement for US$3.5 million in
April 2009 with the second largest of its reinsurers, in relation to the
Company's Dredge D2 insurance claims. "

I'm disappointed with the settlement and have sold as a result.

I think most were expecting a higher payout. I think the dredge cost £40m.

Not sure they were as confident about winning the case as we were led to believe. Under £5m settlement, if my memory serves me is much less than a lot of figures that were being talked about. If my memory is failing me then apologies for the negativity.

I'm out, wishful thinking is right, hoping to get back in at a lower price within a month (takes very little pressure to drive this below 10p imho) but my money's on Solo oil making a recovery for now.

The Company expects to have concluded
court appointed mediation with the rest of its reinsurers by the end of March
2010. Should a settlement not be reached at mediation, a four week trial has
been set down to commence on 28 June 2010. Whilst there can be no certainty
about the conclusion of our legal action, we believe we are in a strong position
based upon the legal and technical merits of our claim.

Schlemiel - simon gordon helpfully posted this broker note recently:-

Arbuthnot - 23/3/10:

Titanium Resources Group has posted an upbeat set of results for 2009, highlighting the strong performance on costs during a difficult year and pointing to tightening market conditions for its products and plans to increase rutile production by 41% to 90kt in 2010 and c.120kt in 2011. We are expecting that higher prices and production levels will return the significant rutile producer to solid profitability.

Titanium Resources Group (TRG) which produces predominately rutile, as well as ilmenite, for the titanium dioxide feedstock market, sees tightening market fundamentals as the supply side is constrained by the shutdown of capacity and a lack of new projects, which should be most acute in the premium end of the market in which TRG operates. All 2010 production is committed, with standard rutile securing prices 5% above 2009 levels. The group has seen higher demand for industrial grade rutile out of Asia, doubling sales of the premium product into Japan at a c.$100/t price premium to standard grade rutile, and seeing the company's first bulk shipment planned for China. The group has also been producing zircon, planning the first sales in 2010, will add another revenue stream.
