03/10/2001 13:27 | Short TBK @ 257p ahead of results tommrow. CAnt expect them to be very good consdering dire consumer confidence. Not much fundamental research I know, but called an ex girlfriend who is fairly high up in French Connection. She told me Ted Baker (for women) has been a complete flop. DIdnt know much about the mens side but thought the brand had gone 'out of fashion.' Graph is in downtrend. | matthewa

20/9/2001 05:32 | Down 9% today retailers are now the lastest shorting target as consumer confidence has all bit dried up. In a recession the general public spend £75 on necessities such as food rather than a smart shirt with a label. All sells the last 10 trading days graph look horrid. S/T target 220p. | matthewa
20/9/2001 05:22 | Down 9% today retailers are now the lastest shorting target as consumer confidence has all bit dried up. In a recession the general public spend £75 on necessities such as food rather than a smart short with a label. | matthewa
19/9/2001 14:11 | Not much fundamental research I know, but called an ex girlfriend who is fairly high up in French Connection. She told me Ted Baker (for women) has been a complete flop. 15/8/2001 16:27 | And another £1.55 million worth declared in the past half hour? | m.t.glass
14/8/2001 20:11 | £590,000 of sells? What's that all about then? | m.t.glass
25/7/2001 15:33 | Dodddy Thanks. | rocking elmo
25/7/2001 15:24 | they dont want to hold stock in a falling mkt they are very nervous | dodddy
25/7/2001 14:52 | dodddy, don't doubt it looks overvalued and is likely to fall, but got any insight why a mm would move so quickly on such minimal trades ?? Thats what interests me. | rocking elmo
25/7/2001 14:15 | looks like a classic sell to me :) | dodddy
25/7/2001 14:07 | See this is what amazes me about shorting, and learning as I am about it, the MM's seem to be moving off at such great speed on very minimal amount of sells, at the moment every mm must obviously be aware that more and more people are now exercising a short stance yet don't move against it in the same way they would against a constant flow of buys. You've got to close out, unless your shorting by a spread bet, so why don't any of the mm's seem to be reacting in a way they would react against heavy buying. Or are they lulling everyone into a false sense of security again like the tech bubble. Will the short bubble burst ? I bet if all those trades had been buys over the last 8 days, the price wouldn't have even moved the volumes been minimal. | rocking elmo
25/7/2001 10:20 | Certainly did. From 20 June, about an hour after my original post following soundings elsewhere. An today is the 8th consecutive day of 100% sells. | m.t.glass
24/7/2001 15:40 | Did you go short ? | rocking elmo
24/7/2001 15:38 | Now lost all its May and June gains.. | m.t.glass
20/7/2001 00:51 | Ignore. (Query re trades data resolved) | m.t.glass
17/7/2001 13:27 | Good luck if yor short would need to attract a bit more consistent volume for me to have a go though. I'd stick to ICI and the likes there are some real plays out there, I'm only praticing shorting at the moment, Bird often comes upwith a good play on the short front. I'll stick to what I'm good at at the moment. Good luck all the way down to £1.80 i'd guess if momentum gets going. | rocking elmo
17/7/2001 13:20 | Your closing comments look about right Elmo. Now below where it was 19 months ago and still drifting slowly down. | m.t.glass
17/7/2001 13:16 | Price back below where it was 19 months ago now and still drifting down. | m.t.glass |
