Supporta says trading for 5 months to Aug 2005 in line

LONDON (AFX) - Supporta PLC, a provider of outsourced services to the public
sector, said trading for the five months to August 2005 are in line with its
business plan.
"The forward order book and contracted revenue for the group currently
stands at 53.1 mln stg compared with approximately 13 mln in September 2004," it
said.
The order book for Supporta Care is 40.4 mln stg compared with 37.6 mln at
the time of the preliminary results in September 2005 and 4 mln stg in September
2004.
In Supporta Property Services, the company said the acquisition of Roger P
Dudley Ltd has been successfully integrated into Supporta and that cash
generation at this business is exceeding initial management expectations.
Supporta Services has contracted revenue of 10 mln stg, up from 9 mln as at
September 2004. The group said it is looking to widen the range of services
offered in this division through organic growth and via acquisitions.
"Each of the divisions is performing in line with our expectations and have
demonstrated growth even during a period of significant change for the group,"
said chairman John Jasper.
The group will announce its interim results for the period to end September
2005 on Nov 22.

Hard nosed characters? Good. If this means that they can chop out the chaff and employ better. Every company makes mistakes, the art is to keep them to the absolute minimum.

Hi Folks.
I think that the rapid departure of the new CFO is the only sour note here. His background looked good. I can't think that he will have been thrilled by the Company's announcement that he was leaving at the end of his probationery period! Also, he got fixed up with a new role very quickly, which would indicate that it was probably his decision to go. I plugged his name into Google (or maybe Yahoo) to find his new appointment. Perhaps it was a clash of personalities - I believe that there are several hard nosed characters in the Company. My only worry is that his tenure coincided with the period in which the Year end accounts were being compiled, and he left before having to sign off on them. Probably nothing, and the Chairmans statement was very upbeat.
I await the Interims with interest!

Did any of you absorb the Chairmans Statement? This one is going to do really well and this could be the virtual ground floor for the 'new type' Supporta.

Hope so Deehill. As long as Bob Holt remains a Non Exec Director, I'm in. He won't stay on board unless he agrees with the strategy and progress. Have you noticed how closely this Company is beginning to resemble Mears Group?. ie Public sector focus, and shared synergies between divisions - note new acquisition. It's all on the upside in my opinion.
