07/2/2017 16:52 | With TD Investing it wasn't possible to buy SOM until I had filled out the W-8BEN form. But as already mentioned it was a very easy online process and the form is valid for at least 2 years from memory. | interceptor2
07/2/2017 15:22 | The W-8BEN form isn't required to buy shares. It is a means of avoiding US withholding additional tax on dividends. If you are UK resident then it is worthwhile. | longshanks
07/2/2017 15:06 | TD Investing have a facility to do the form online - so it's literally instantly tradeable thereafter. | grahamburn
07/2/2017 12:17 | I had to do the same, the form was pretty simple to fill in so don't let that put you off. | pnetol
07/2/2017 12:05 | tightfist; although it's listed on AIM it's a US domiciled company and as such you have to complete a W-BEN tax form before you can buy. Call your broker - you can it set up in a couple of days. The form will also allow you then to buy any other US stock. | glaws2
07/2/2017 11:47 | Hi,I am interested in getting into SOM, business model looks to be well placed in a turbulent world. However, friends report that the Buying process isn't straightforward. One was talking about the W-BEN tax form, I suppose it's US domiciled. Can anyone shed any light? Is it settled on CREST or are there other unseen issues? Or is a spread/size issue. Thanks, tightfiste | tightfist
07/2/2017 11:15 | looking to buy but nit an easy share to buys on line have to call up to buy plus large spread just hope have not missed the boat | mrthomas
07/2/2017 09:36 | Looking at the chart volume has been lighter recently which could suggest that any selling pressure has dried up now. A lovely looking chart over the last year with periods of consolidation followed by a new breakout, the current consolidation since the trading update 10 January looks very solid. Not long to wait for full year results and they did say that they are considering a special dividend later in 2017, so plenty of potential catalysts to look forward to. | interceptor2
07/2/2017 09:14 | There have been around 60 trades yesterday and so far today, of which 58 have been Buys and only 2 sells! That's a net buy of around £420,000. Hopefully today's tick up on a narrowing spread is a sign that the buying pressure is beginning to take effect. | rivaldo
04/2/2017 10:36 | Dividend Growth Champions Written by: Christopher Boxall on February 3rd 2017 Category: Investments, Shares Somero Enterprises Inc. (AIM:SOM) With a strong finish to 2016 the US based manufacturer of laser-guided machinery used in concrete placement recently reported that revenue for the full year and net cash at the year-end was ahead of market expectations. This saw the company lift the full year dividend 50% to 11 cents (8.7p) equating to a historic yield of 3.4%. The business has invested significantly in previous years and with the market for its products looking very supportive, notably in the US, the cash should continue to build with the potential for further meaningful increases in the dividend. 31/1/2017 13:56 | Interesting, peel hunt moved down to 255 to buy earlier joining Cannacord, Cannacord have just moved up to 260 , I wonder if Blackrock have finished their selling??? | pnetol
31/1/2017 10:32 | Good to see a tick up via the spread closing to only 3p - hopefully a sign of continued demand for shares. | rivaldo
30/1/2017 17:57 | The impressive thing is the enthusiastic take up at top price of the sold stock. | bones
30/1/2017 17:23 | 1.683m left on 27/01 and 632500 sold today. So if they are selling out then it leaves about 1m to go | croasdalelfc
30/1/2017 16:43 | They probably dumped that 632k today as well so that will reduce the remainder further. | bones
30/1/2017 16:37 | But at least we now have a maximum amount that they have left to sell which gives some clarify, especially as it's only Cannacord on the offer. | pnetol
30/1/2017 16:25 | Blackrock are the seller. Just below 3% now so we won't know if they continue or not... | ragehammer
30/1/2017 15:59 | Wish I had more funds for another toop up here, as soon as the supply goes we should motor ?? | pnetol
30/1/2017 15:11 | 632,350 shares just bought at the full 255p offer, and every other trade so far today is a Buy. Has to be a seller out there. Just a question of when he runs out. | rivaldo
27/1/2017 16:17 | Bones that's good to know, used it as an opportunity this afternoon to buy a few more, nothing available below 2.55, is I guess we see how much supply there is, Cannacord are the only MM left on 2.55, all the rest are at 260.GL to all | pnetol
27/1/2017 14:36 | Maybe bones - although hopefully that signals the ending of an overhang. | rivaldo
27/1/2017 12:34 | Rivaldo, appears that Cannacord is feeding out shares at 255p in large amounts. Presume they have a large sell order to fill? | bones
27/1/2017 11:34 | Wow - a £1.16m Buy at 255p just reported (455,000 shares). Perhaps other trades still to be reported given no price movement yet. | rivaldo
27/1/2017 07:20 | United Rentals in the USA reported great figures last night which easily beat forecasts, together with a positive outlook, and their shares rose by some 13%. This should help reinforce sentiment for SOM's own positive outlook. | rivaldo
20/1/2017 12:12 | SOM does feel like a safe type of stock to hold, there aren't many small cap stocks that offer 70% exposure to the potential Trump effect on infrastructure spending, as well as benefitting from FX rates. And even after a good run in the last 12 months with the share price up 85%, they still look good value on a PER of 12, PEG at 0.2 and high cash levels which is likely to mean a special dividend. | interceptor2 |
