Posted at 13/2/2024 16:38 by linzyisadrift why would that be the case until Skeeda came about SMRT weren't looking to be brought. So management wouldn't need to be ejected. However if nothing comes of this and results are poor then management need a kicking |
Posted at 10/1/2024 04:59 by xxx If taking the trouble, diversion and cost to make an 82p offer, this will not be their expected final price for the business.Skedda are an Australian co. and if you look at takeovers there, a change of control premium is generally paid. Thus they will expect to do likewise. Whilst some might be happy with less [it is iliquid] ~£1.29 is what SMRT directors should aim for and the bidders will recognise the calculation. Agreed that there is a risk the SMRT directors dont negotiate in full faith as they wish to retain their jobs [Frank mainly]. Hence the importance of shareholders contacting the company to express their views. |
Posted at 13/12/2023 13:00 by linzyisadrift well 2024 was meant to be a good year, given how long you have held and probably brought at, if you had sold during covid you would have had a far bigger profit. i too wasn't happy with the recent options, but was willing to still see what would happen. The other company will buy SMRT on the cheap, and its frustrating given how much money has gone into the company to get it to that point. |
Posted at 13/12/2023 07:53 by spangle93 The jury is in, and it's a resounding "wait and see"Interesting that they had already booted one lower offer out, so this is actually the second. Now they're having a think about it "The Board of SmartSpace is considering Skedda's proposal with its advisers and the Company is continuing to consult with its major shareholders." |
Posted at 12/12/2023 21:48 by cordwainer Skedda seems to be more or less a direct competitor and therefore this approach seems aimed at taking SMRT out of the marketplace at the same time as poaching staff and customers. Too much overlap otherwise. The platforms and integration SMRT spent years building are liable to be dealt a limited lifespan, retired, dissected and spliced into Skedda's own workplace management suite. Just a wild guess, maybe SMRT director's won't be too keen on the offer. If rejected, the share price will not drop back to the 30s. |
Posted at 11/8/2023 23:07 by cordwainer maybe so @weatherman, because most of the fundamentals aside from their beloved metrics ARR and ARPU have sucked so far |

Posted at 20/2/2023 15:46 by hazl Also I have been doing this sort of thing for years and I bet a lot of posters haven't heard of SMRT .What I hope I bring is a little bit more visibility to it's existence on the billboards so investors can make up their minds as to it's quality. |
Posted at 17/1/2023 11:16 by hazl Space connect is another .'The most significant of these channel partners is Evoko, who make award winning meeting room panels. Meeting room panels are essentially touch screen terminals that are placed in various locations around an office building. Their primary function is as digital room/desk booking systems. SMRT have joined forces with Evoko to produce their next generation of meeting room panels. Evokos new product is called Naso. The operating system for the Naso was written by SMRT and as part of the deal Evoko have been able to white label it. Evoko's previous meeting room panel, the Liso, sold 300,000 units. I believe, this makes Evoko the leading meeting room panel supplier' |
