Mart, writhing in death throes for a year, rtos into San Leon. Umusadedge 16 well field was producing 16k bopd. 6.4k bopd to Mart was nowhere near enough to service its whopping $200m debt mountain. Facing default in March, Mart was ripe for being picked off. Rejected deals with Midwestern, then Delta, and finally succumbed to San Leon in a $180m offer. The transaction value of nearly $400m shows that O&G deals are far from dead. Indeed Cos facing closure due to low poo mean that M&A activity is ongoing. All capex infrastructure costs completed.

Let's wait for ratification...

'In a 26-paragraph affidavit deposed to by the Executive Vice-Chairman of the company,(Owena oil and gas) Mr. Samuel Kolajo, he explained that Owena Oil and Gas Limited. was originally, fully owned by the state government.'

'Can anyone confirm or clarify if Owena Oil and Gas are still the vehicle that represents Ondo state's interest in its oil and gas assets. Tia'

In my opinion, confirmation of percentages by the DPR in the application for ratification will also confirm Owena's status within the group.

(Without throwing a spanner into the works..Mimiko drew up the percentages that allowed Ondo State to retain 30%....I doubt we've heard the end of this. I'm sure the ratification will go through, it's just a case of confirming who owns Owena))

Sherlock.there is only one sure fire way as I see it .people have to read the rns,s and look at what ondo state probably wants to achieve and what role Sirius are to play and then draw your own conclusions.

'In your mind what are the most viable methods available to Sirius?'

If they prove ownership by 'ratification'...every thing else will drop into place.

TD - securing the asset pipeline, particularly the block, does indeed seem to be critical at this time. In your mind what are the most viable methods available to Sirius?

Ht .i think you are spot on with schlumberger .
Who else would know better what ondo state have in their pipeline.
In the failed bid round the data room imfo was supplied by non other than schlumberger.
They would know the whole geology of offshore Nigeria better then anyone else.

JUST NEED TO SECURE THE PIPELINE NOW,!!!!!

apologies for interrupting the banter (hope I'm not intruding)..but I thought I might post something closer to home.

who was it that said there was a funding problem...Schlumberger don't know what to do with the money... (ref Motley Fool)

'For 2015, Schlumberger made $5 billion in free cash flow, or double the company's annual dividend payout of $2.5 billion. Management has used some of the remaining free cash flow to buy back shares at low prices. The company recently announced a buyback authorization of $10 billion that would reduce the float by 12.5% at current prices.'
