Yes they sneaked in a Trading Update in that guise.
Looks pretty positive , I like the last bit.
"SSE is on course to achieve its principal financial objective for 2015/16, which is to deliver an increase in the full-year dividend that will be at least equal to RPI inflation. It continues to recognise that its dividend cover, based on dividend increases that at least keep pace with RPI inflation, could range from around 1.2 times to around 1.4 times over the three years to 2017/18. SSE continues to believe that a long-term target for dividend cover of a range around 1.5 times, also based on dividend increases which at least keep pace with inflation, is the right one to aim for."

You do wonder what the wider market fall has to do with Utilities like UU ; I realise there are marginal effects , but it seems illogical that the fall in commodities should weaken the price here. I suspect few PIs sell in these circumstances ; only the nervous.

Value is a relative concept, wad. If everything else is getting cheaper then this will look expensive by comparison if it doesn't also fall. I understand your frustration, however.

I love the way that the share price of SSE is being hammered by a fall in the Chinese stock market. Exactly how much did the profit on electricity fall as a consequence?
