Hi Alp, long time no chat was over in Zugg for New Year, went to Zurich for the fireworks display. Most of my Option trading is done in the US now , spreads and fills are giving me an edge compared to the UK.

Am still quite active writing options; getting difficult to make money now and may well end the year flat. You only need a couple to spoil the party!
I am not sure if margin requirements have changed but that seems an issue?

Commission rates from private banks are now too high and I shall be opening an account with Swissquote to run Swisscom puts.

younasm , Interactive Broker fees £ 1.70 open and the same to close from a platform that gives you the chance to bid the market makers. I have never looked back after paying £ 16 the round turn in London.

Long call positions have a 50% probability of a result and when implied vol is at high levels , no chance. You need to sell high vol premium , in the American market, UK markets are not liquid .Have a look on the implied vol rank indicator on Dough.com it ranks stocks with high IV . Dough is the new tasty trade platform which is going to open a UK discount Broker link in the future. You can also follow other experienced Option traders positions.

Been a buyer of the UNG Gas ETF Options in the US this week as the weather turned very cold , I work off the storage figures that are supplied free by the US Goverment. The shale gas is not in the mix the storage figures move the market.

Among the notable companies suffering following the turmoil seen in currency markets following the SNB's move is FXCM, the largest retail currency broker in the US. In pre-market trade on Friday, FXCM shares were down as much as 90%, and near 9:55 am ET.

Hi Harv - don't know about Thursday; a guess would be a slower start than some may expect - market disappointment?

Agree unbelievable if they do not pursue those clients. It seems that other brokers also have losses to absorb. So who held the other side of these trades?!
