I have a friend in Zurich and she said I could drive her car on her Insurance and I would be covered ?
The Swiss Insurance system covers the vehicle not the driver is this correct ?

Morning Stavros.

Lloyds, I never thought I would ever excercise any options - today I have exercisedfor 3 x Jun 72p calls. I needed to increase my holdings so that I can write more options. I always write more out the money calls than my actual holdings.

One of these days, I might suffer a big loss due to this strategy - been waiting a long time for that. On the other hand, losing money in short puts was a regular occurence :-)

Rolled 20x Lloyds 80P June -> March for net credit of 5p. Don't see Lloyds going anywhere but provides some return.

BTC 5x UU Dec 720P for 8p; not worth keeping them open for the pennies. If the market corrects I can open them again.

FXCM: tell me more, I haven't seen anything yet but then I know you are on special deals!

I do know that they are moving to a new platform, so they announce. My base currency will stay the same, so not there affected. However, I do really like the Track platform, and I would hate to lose it. Do you know more?

Otherwise, my current simple strategy of selling puts is so far still working; only Morrison was accepted after I'd already taken some rolled -and again - premiums. Only CNA slightly under water at the moment.

Opened a few more naked calls to balance up my exposure further. I don't see any huge correction; but certainly don't see much scope for rise.

Triple top in play now -- just need FTSE close below 6760 to confirm. As we head into summer months, then another 10-15% drop will be the standard behaviour.

Good luck -- I am having lots of fun with IAG options, but it wont be much fun if it drops another 30%

The yield is measured against the value of my stocks at the start of the year. These are generally not traded - used for margin requirements..e.g. £20k @ 1%=£200 per month.I would leave a decent gap between stock value (20% haircut) and margin requirement, to avoid trading when margin moving against you.

GBP is still strengthening as the expectation of the first rate rise is showing on LIBOR. It may reach 1.50 against the Sfr when I expect to open some forex options. The uncertainty around any Yes Scottish vote IMO could destabilise.

younasm - how are you measuring that yield? Against the option margin deposit (eg £50k), the full 'face value' of the option (eg £500k) or, against a notional amount (eg £100k) that you estimate that you could lose?
I measure against the latter for interest.

(Various trades recently, nothing exciting).

I am calling the move up by FTSE this week as "triple top" --- I would be very surprised if this isn't the high point for 2014.

My option positions are now well balanced (as some invidual stocks have fallen by 10% or more from Q1 2014 - LGEN/BT/IAG). I seem to be earning barely more than dividends. Down to 1-2% yield per month?? Still I guess that can accumulate to 15-25% gain - if I don't get any big losers.

Just avoiding writing risky stock options. No index positions.

sto sep ftse 7000 call @ 46. Narrow range can't last forever and the bull market is getting a little long in the tooth to my mind.
Have a naked june 37/40 strangle on AZN after call option, only part covered by stock, went wrong. Trying to keep proffit on stock. Just hope bid spec fades.
Short GSK sep put and had thought to strangle. Quarterly divi can be a pain when selling calls so would probably sell 2 far otm.
I did note that Buffet had sold out.

ALP: if you do , don't go in too tight . GSK has a good few things going for it .
