Posted at 18/2/2021 07:01 by cartan1blue I would be interested in views out there. This trust has been underperforming for quite some time now, and as the Board is doing nothing about it, investors appear to be voting with their wallets. At least that's what the discount to NAV suggests. Is there a case for a campaign for discontinuation? Views? |

Posted at 11/4/2019 07:22 by 29palms Final figs today make nice reading with increase in Final Dividend to 18p per share. This should form part of any investor portfolio looking for exposure to S&P 500 stocks. As always, DYOR |
Posted at 15/11/2016 17:49 by 29palms Wow what a day here!!!New intra day high of £12.40 on share price and settled to close at all time high of £11.92 along with a 20p rise on NAV(including income)to £12.54, also an all time high. Even tonight some of the trusts holdings are showing some nice gains again which can only boost NAV further. IMO, a really inexpensive way to gaining exposure to USA stocks and should form a part of any investors portfolio. But as always, DYOR |
Posted at 31/7/2016 17:36 by 29palms From the year end annual results 31st January 2016-The Company’s share price fell by 5.8% to 815.0p and ended the year at a 12.9% discount to total net asset value, compared with a 7.9% discount at the end of the 2015 financial year. This is far from ideal and the Board continues to work with the Manager in both promoting the Company’s benefits to a wider audience and providing liquidity to the market through the use of share buybacks. During the year 2.9 million shares were repurchased at a cost of £24.5 million. Since the year-end, a further 848,700 shares have been repurchased at a cost of £7.1 million and the discount as at 22 March 2016 was 10.8%. So judging by these comments the Manager would probably be looking at Discount around 7.9% to NAV to equal year end 2015. I have to say again share price should be trading way above £11.00 and this should be a core holding for any investor looking for exposure to the US given happenings since BREXIT.
