Given they are looking at 12 sites and they do £55m in turnover on food from 14 hotels....

Does seem odd they own such a stake and are increasing it if the ultimate aim is not control.

Pays even more than the Greek Government !

I guess that the directors must be happy..and with the extension till 2016.....since they own millions of pounds of loan stock I believe

Interesting to see that regional revPAR is expected to continue solid growth in 2011. Should be good for MWB.

"Hotels in London ended 2010 with double-digit revenue per available room - or revPAR - growth up by 11.9% on the previous year to £112.

...

"Performance in the regions also ended the year on a high note, with revPAR up 3.9% to £46."

STR Global believes the outlook for 2011 is more challenging, especially for London. It predicts a 2.2% rise in revPAR for London, while regional UK is expected to report stronger growth than the capital, up 4.4%."

3,500,000 shares bought today in large tranches (over 5% of MWB)

if there is further buying tomorrow to take the share price up to about 50p, i think we may get RNS of a cash offer at about 70p / share announced 7am Monday December 20th 2010.

Tomorrow may be the last day to buy MWB, before the bid announcement and re-rating to about 70p...

Isn't MWB a cheaper way into MBE?

Unless you think the hotels are worthless?

MBE Market Cap about the same as MWB (I accept MWB only owns 75% ish of MBE).

MWB directors....
....dubious actions in my humble opinion....

...vehicle active in the company shares....
..supposed to be cashing in the assetts yet issued millions more shares last year and investing in expansion...
...extending the loan stock for x more years....(which they have part of)..at very high rate, 9.75% !!..
and 1% payment for the extension !

Not sure it is Pyrrho.

Been some very large transactions over the last couple of weeks but no RNS on their holding.

Still - looks like there is little stock about so all good.
