MAFL Mkt cap is the same as NAV in 2018 5 years of growth and the share price is at its biggest discount to NAV since JV started recording it.

What does this mean there is next to zero PR, some board members have not bought any stock at the massive discount, no news for a while so doubt they are in a close period.

A few simple ones like keeping the website updated, tweet what the investee companies are doing attend a few investment events, would be good.

The company could buyback the placing stock at half price and have pocketed 125k with no dilution, as per the AGM resolution they can buy back 10% of stock in issue..

The share price has dropped 60% since the placing which was crazy seeing the company had just received 2.5m, to justify it saying the fees was high for a transfer did not stack up, and seemed it was the plan all along.

Summary they need to start thinking what potential investors in the stock would like to see and look at ways to reward shareholders as the plan to do this with the share price rise is not working.

Gold will move higher and so will the companies they are invested in.

I do see the value and continue to hold but a change to the norm is needed.

A news release from Ascendant uses wording suggesting that the Portuguese GOV now has a time limit to decide if they take up their 15%... Wording as below:

"The remaining 20% of Redcorp (the "MF&I Interest") is held by Mineral & Financial Investments AG ("M&FI"). The MF&I Interest is subject to a consortium agreement with Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro S.A. ("EDM"), the state mining development agency wholly owned by the Portuguese Government. The consortium agreement provides EDM the right to participate in up to a 15% interest in the Project by exercising an option within 120 days of completion of the FS. If EDM elects to exercise its option, the MF&I interest will be reduced to 5% and MF&I will have the right to put this interest to Ascendant."

Hi GB
Good value as this level - I think things may pick up rapidly with this project over the coming months, the 5% put option will sit there, but im sure alot is going on to prize that extra 15% out of the Gov's hands.. that 5%-20% could be very valuable as a undiluted redcorp parent carry..could be possibly be linked in someway..JV is proving to be a very comptent and shrewd investor

In addition, as Ascendant is now well advanced in completion of the Feasibility Study and moving towards project development decisions, the Technical Services Group has grown to accommodate the future demands of project construction and commissioning. As such, the Company is pleased to announced it has hired Mr. Erich Meintjes as Director of Engineering to support the ongoing engineering requirements at Venda Nova.

I don't think there is any reason not to believe - financing done - got two weeks to cough up the Wonga - but I suppose you never know on this world .. I think the big kicker will come in the tangible change in NAV because of the buyout clause - even based on old numbers including discount it give a clear tangible additional valuation of $12million for the mine on top of everything else .. but the drilling results are going to put that in the shadows .. it's all there for investors to read .. but sometimes it needs to be spelt out in o liners on the AIM - they are too modest (which is good )

You can’t make seed investments in unlisted mining tech companies like Ideon though, which 9x’d the original stake in under two years. Nor can you partake in the upside of an early stage mining project like Lagoa Salgada. Whether or not you’ll be glad to have been involved remains to be seen but to suggest that MAFL is just a collection of things private investors could buy in the open market themselves is simply not true.

Hi not sure if investors have seen this video.
The project in Lagoa Salgada is not exploration, it is proven and they are advancing the mine design.
I am currently with the Redcorp team in Lagoa Salgada with 3 rigs on site proving up the resources and conducting Metallurgical studies

ROMBIZ - I watched an interview with the management, he knew his stuff, but it just seems like this is more of a hobby for him, while he goes off sailing. Maybe wrong, but the fact they have so many investments seems like they lack a clear strategy of focus. The presentation is also awful, quite difficult to read with the font they used. These things add up to put investors off. They should scale down the number of investments they have.

To be honest, I think most people don't care about that. Good for them or bad for them, but really, who cares.

What we do care about are the grades and news flow coming out of this. The management should sell off some of the investments and focus on this project, if I wanted to own HOC then I can buy that myself, I don't need to invest in MAFL to gain exposure to HOC.

The problem this stock has, is the strategy of the management, they own way too many investments across many large cap stocks, if investors wanted that they can easily do it themselves. If you listen to the experts, like Pierre Lassonde, he will say focus on a handful of companies, I think he actually has about 8 or less investments in mining stocks right now. This is a guy who created the revenue streaming model for miners and became a billionaire.

It seems more like the management here are content to keep taking their nice salaries and living on paradise island in the Caymans:))
