                      Notification of Preliminary Results


John David Sports plc, the UK's leading specialist retailer of fashionable
branded sports and leisure wear, will announce its results for the full year to
31st March 2002 on Thursday 20th June 2002.

There will be an analyst presentation on that day at Tower 42, Level 24, Old
Broad Street, London, EC2N 1HQ.  The meeting will commence at 9.30am and will be
hosted by John Wardle, Chairman, Barry Bown, Chief Executive and Malcolm
Blackhurst, Finance Director.
