29/6/2010 07:33 | WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SET OF FIGURES : Latham(James) PLC 29 June 2010 ? James Latham plc ("James Latham", the "Company") Full Year Results In what has been another difficult year for the economy as a whole, I am pleased to report the results for the financial year to 31 March 2010 which show a good trading performance and a strong balance sheet. Group revenue in the financial year to 31 March 2010 was GBP115,372,000, 1.3% up on last year's GBP113,904,000 after being 5.9% behind at six months. Operating profit increased by 69% to GBP6,437,000 from GBP3,812,000 last year. Finance income was GBP43,000 against GBP647,000 last year. The main reason for the drop is the lower prevailing interest rates. Financial costs, which are principally interest on the pension scheme deficit as calculated under IAS19, were GBP893,000 against GBP287,000. Pre-tax profit was GBP5,587,000 and has increased from last year's figure of GBP4,172,000. Profit after tax was GBP4,113,000 compared to GBP2,268,000 last year. Earnings per share was 21.5p compared to last year's 11.8p . | hvs

31/3/2010 11:04 | Yes, I agree, and NET cash of 8.5m. And unlike some value dogs, this is a well-run company, likely to produce eps growth over the next few years, with the cyclical upturn. | cjohn
31/3/2010 10:08 | And on a market cap of £ 30 mill they £ 10mill in CASH Just tuck them away. | hvs
31/3/2010 10:00 | The company have indicated that they will beat current result estimates for this year. Full year predictions are for something like 14.5p eps. But first half profit came in at 11.7p eps. It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect 20p eps. Plus these currently trade at 0.8 tangible book value. | cjohn

20/7/2008 13:06 | Hi werdna They can buy back 10% of the total. In fact last year's AGM resolution specified 2,016,000 shares. 910,000 bought back so far, so not yet half way, and I don't imagine there are that many keen sellers! | westcountryboy
20/7/2008 10:48 | werdna78, Did anyone ask you why you are not happy ? Have you managed a successful business in your life ? | hvs
09/7/2008 16:32 | Does anyone know how much they are allowed to buy back? It's normally 5% or 10% of the share capital in any one year. I cannot find the resoloution from the last AGM that would state the percentage. I'm more than happy for them to continue buying back at this level. They have a good enough cash balance to allow them to weather any general market downturn in business over the next few months. | werdna78
09/7/2008 14:25 | I suspect they will be buybacks again as the directors are keen to mop up any surplus stock at well below NAV and also save on the divi payment due at month end no doubt. An instant return and good use of the spare cash. | davidosh |
