What made you think the nav was to be announced today, Skyship?

Can't see why. There isn't any offer and there hasn't been any likelihood of one. A merger was on the cards; but frankly I don't see how Picton could make it attractive. So, no, no effect.

Anyone any thoughts on the effect of this offer going away? Is it likely to have any negative effect?

Best regards

Can't see why the Panel granted an extension. Still, at least the 31st will be the end of it! Just 2 weeks to go...

Nice to have a deadline to this takeover saga. Roll on the 31/10.

I can't find it now either Skyship, but I promise I wasn't seeing things. I don't drink or smoke any exotic substances and so curiouser and curiouser.

Have a look on 03/10 as one crops up there as well. Maybe it was moved to this date or they are connected?

Gary - unable to find that trade - was it for IFD?

3.5m trade gone through. Quite a lot for this share.

dendria - do share your views with us when you've completed your due diligence. As you will see in the many recent posts, many of us are at a loss (now literally!) as to why the shares should be trading so low. At 33.75p the yield = 10.4%

The ex-div dates look fairly regular to me - if they follow the same pattern, the 2nd interim ex-div date should be 02 Nov 11 with the 3rd on 01 Feb 12 (possibly 08 Feb 12)? I've only just started looking at IFD so I'm only assuming.

29 February?
Seriously, I had not noticed but the date does vary a little - all within a week of quarterly though so do not see it as a problem.

Bank Holidays? Quarter Days? Weekends?

Anyone got any thoughts on timing of dividends? Just been looking at the history and it seems a little irregular, not at a set time each quarter. I may be missing something obvious as I have only been following for a few months.

Best regards

GARY - "Could there possibly be concerns about the sustainability of the dividend?"

The currently uncovered dividend has to be the only possible bearpoint. However, the very detailed Presentation following the last Finals (see below) does go the extra step to explain just how and where the shortfall will be made up. Also as discussed earlier on this thread, the placing of last year @ 38p will surely have been undertaken on the understanding that the 0.88p will be held.

LG,

Could there possibly be concerns about the sustainability of the dividend? Everything else with this company looks rock solid.

Rotation from this stock into riskier areas?

If all is so well with IFD (and as a substantial holder, I sincerely hope that it is) then why doesn't the market respond and rerate the stock? Also. Skyship, I am rather thinking of adding PCTN to my mix rather than buying yet more IFD. I can see little to choose between the two of them. What is the deciding factor for you?

Just yesterday I was discussing this with AlanJi who posts here occasionally. We've both sold a few things recently so as to raise cash levels, sleep easier and create some firepower for when the trend changes.

Neither of us could bring ourselves to sell any IFD, not even topslice a few to reduce allocation.

There is no catch - just extraordinary VALUE.

# High Yield
# High NAV discount
# Low LTV
# No refinancing required
# Many possibilities of increasing income
# Many possibilities of increasing NAV

For all newcomers, just take a look at the Post results presentation on the website.

As you say Hybrasil, Picton see the opportunity, but are unable to launch a cash bid, so nothing will happen.

We have however, through the Form 8.3 announcements, seen ALL holders with more than 1% - so a more serious bidder knows where to go to buy a controlling stake ahead of an aggressive bid.

The falling share price prompted me to look at the last results.

NAV of 50p and dividends of 3.52p

Very good on ltv.

So where is the catch? I dont think we need Picton. I think they correctly see amazing value!

The directors should say good bye to them
