Owenski - you will be unlucky to lose money on this share if you buy at current prices and you will probably make money, though perhaps not as much as you might expect.. However don't think that all the posters on this thread are giving you the full story. Some research on Duncan Owen, and how those who have invested in companies he has been involved with have fared, might be worthwhile.

Do you know about the property trust that did a substantial placing at a 25%+ discount to asset value not so long ago?

I agree BT. If that big trade signals the end of the Schroder tap then this could open 'up' tomorrow and put on weight quite rapidly. Back to 40pish.

Bit of trading activity this morning and looking ready to break out through 33.125p as we have seen trades at 33.5p.......37p next stop?

Owenski – sorry, but you've got the wrong idea there. Schroders hold a mere 18,000 shares. The balance of 35,545,688 shares (9.987%) is held by Schroder Investment Management ("SIM") At one stage a year ago SIM held 42,496,819 (11.94%).

Incidentally to look into this one thoroughly you need go no further than the last IMS, the last Finals and most importantly, the Presentation on the website after those last Finals.

If you are a prospective buyer – don't leave it long as when that tap is exhausted this is going to pop – just a matter of when rather than if:

owenski - I just wonder if there could be a conflict of interest issue here, with Schroders offloading stock ahead of the management takeover and the change of name. I've no idea what conflict of interest there could be, but it is an interesting conjecture. I'll be in for a few more if I can free up some cash.

If Schroders are now earning a fee >£1m pa, do they need to hold the shares as well, this generous div. is not fully covered so far for this year, will that be a problem, this looks interesting but more from a div income angle, not expecting major capital growth as such, any opinion would be appreciated as the div looks inviting but my instincts are not following suit here?

Hi Skyship. I am holding around 10000 of these at 32.75 (I subscribe to Mike Walters and took your advice)....Given your confidence, I am putting a buy order at 33-33.25 with Charles Stanley/Fastrade for tomorrow opening. Can only afford another 3k worth however....Good luck to all that hold.

OK - I am confidently predicting "GAME OVER" for any more cheap stock. After that 1m BUY @ 33.25p today, there will be one last chance @ 33.25p tomorrow morning. These are breaking out and will be 35.25p within 3 working days - thereafter 37 in short order.

BIG question is whether I should act on my own advice and break my "Limit 10% any one stock" rule - SOOOOO tempted...

Yes....& Precisely. Just doesn't seem to make any sense at all; though frankly doesn't seem to make much sense for anyone to sell at this level, yet alone Schroders...

Don't know what to make of those trades. A 2.5m matched bargain @ 32.75p; Schroders selling another 2.5m; or even Schroders selling another 5m.

I wonder who's buying all this Schroder stock; can't be just the wee few of us on this thread...

Apologies for o/t but I have started a new thread to help investors decide which online broker to use and I would be grateful for any advice posters might have in that respect. Some of you have been trading shares for years and have probably tried most of the available sites, so I hope you will share your opinions and help other investors find the best online broker. Two "L" trades - sales of 1m @ 32.25p & 250k @ 32.5p - followed by lots of solid buying. Perhaps Schroders reducing again - should see an RNS on Monday.

Some solid buying coming in again - inc. another 250k @ 32.75p.

If we can just break through that 50day MA @ 33p then this share price is going to make some real progress at last...
