16/4/2007 23:40 | Washington Int US groups pull out of Sellafield bid - report Date : 15/04/2007 @ 18:17 Source : AFX Washington Int US groups pull out of Sellafield bid - report LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Two of the leading candidates vying to take over the 15 bln stg-plus contract to manage and clean up Sellafield, the UK's biggest nuclear reprocessing plant, have pulled out less than two weeks after making it onto the shortlist, the Sunday Telegraph reported. The report said that US companies Energy Solutions and Jacobs Engineering are cited as telling the paper that they wished to focus instead on the upcoming sale of the Magnox reactor units of British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) and other contract competitions, including the bid to manage the Drigg low-level nuclear dump. Four teams are now left in the race, two with a British interest: a consortium made up of Serco, the British support services group, with Bechtel, the US contractor, and BWXT Nuclear Services UK; Britain's Amec, in partnership with Washington Group International and Areva, the French decommissioning specialist; a consortium of Fluor and Toshiba; and CH2M Hill of the US. rhys.jones@thomson.c | din007

06/4/2007 12:33 | Found the RNS - thank you - quite clear. It may or not be considered fair value by the PI but if no other bidder comes along to up the ante, then we may as well take the cash and move on. I can think of several other worthy investments that I could make with the money. | joestalin
