    HSBC European Absolute Limited (the "Company") 

    The Board of Directors announce that they are considering proposals for the future of the Company which may involve a liquidation and
return of assets; a tax-efficient roll-over into another investment vehicle and/or a change to the Company's investment policy. The Board
has instructed the Company's investment manager, HSBC Alternative Investments Limited, and its financial adviser, Landsbanki Securities (UK)
Limited to consult with the Company's shareholders in respect of the future direction of the Company. A further announcement will be made in
due course.
