29/7/2003 17:30 | Sure Power Inc awarded a U.S. $2.2 million grant by the Federal Government. Look at the following link: | pylon
29/7/2003 09:16 | Just back from a week on holiday - good jump in the price - well done guys if you made money here. Personally, I'm still waiting on an RNS before I do anything. SUREPOWER was my main reason for investing and if you make a call (as posted further up) I think you'll find that they have ceased to trade or are pretty close to doing so.... So that's another $1 million of assets down the Yellow River. As for valuation, that is over £7m - £1m equity, £6m debt. :-( G. | garth
29/7/2003 06:05 | Keeping an edge in the stock market means you have to keep your eyes wide open. What a difference a quarter makes! This means you need to get the fastest, best and right information before someone else does. This free newsletter does just that. You will get an email only when something is on the move or about to move. You will not receive any junk mail. They have a great history and are definitely worth a few minutes of your time. Remember, 20/20 foresight is better than 20/20 hindsight. These shares are traded in the US markets. | mothman
28/7/2003 23:05 | Well, that's exactly what I was speculating in an earlier message on this board tonight, citing the examples of Marconi and more recently, Orbis (which fell by 50% today) in anticipation of such an event. A d4e swap, however, may not suit management if they are serious about taking the company private. Another alternative may be for the company to delist and rid itself of the rules of the London Stock Exchange. It would probably cause the shares to collapse still further. | pylon
28/7/2003 22:56 | debt for equity If banks think thjey will lose money as creditors (and company can not service its loans), they can enforce d4e changing their loans to new shares thus diluting the value of exising shares.......this is the worse case scenario after administration for s/hs With a MCap of 1m and current creditors are say 10% existing shareholdings' are worth 10% of the total value of the company.....this is just a hypothetical scenario not acurate, but it might be the case here!? | panagos
28/7/2003 22:49 | Excuse my ignorance, Panagos, but what is d4e? | pylon
28/7/2003 22:44 | when the debit situation is settled (if) this will natirally go to 20p. If a bid goes through at that price it will go faster. Is there a chance for d4e? | panagos
28/7/2003 22:42 | The management issued a statement in October 2002 that they had received an offer for the company in xs of the prevailing share price at the time (circa 20p). The current share price may well be an opportunity to top up, in which case the management would be our allies. Even 20p per share is too cheap for the company, but perhaps holders would be very happy to get that having seen the shares as low as 2p. | pylon
28/7/2003 22:34 | and........? | panagos
28/7/2003 22:33 | Presently the company is valued at about the same as its investment in Sure Power Inc. about 2 years ago - £1m. From what I can determine, the CEO of Sure Power used to be a director of HPT. | pylon
28/7/2003 22:27 | pylon are you holding any of these? are the management our biggest enemies? due to cheap mbo? if finances secured this should be valued 5-10m.. | panagos
28/7/2003 22:23 | MISSION STATEMENT OF HIGH-POINT RENDEL PLC: "to bring certainty and economy to business and capital projects, enhancing the ability of all parties to deliver, finance and pay for major schemes." ...."all parties" - does that include HPT? | pylon
28/7/2003 21:54 | ta biomax! we see what happens soon | panagos
28/7/2003 21:12 | Panagos, re spread is difficult to judge, only few days ago, the spread went wide to 4-2.5 (from 4-3.5) shortly after HPT jumpted up 90% on heavy bying. difficult to call. I hope on positive outcome for HPT, based on heavy institutional holding above 50% | biomax
28/7/2003 21:04 | So what's the vibe? MBO at 1p? D4E? Does anybody know something more? | panagos
28/7/2003 20:50 | Older shareholders may well remember Barclays writing off large amounts of capital with hpt before. Perhaps the banks and management will offer somewhere in the region of 0.p per share. | targatarga
28/7/2003 19:50 | Biomax from your experiece on hpt is the 30% spread usual? | panagos
28/7/2003 19:26 | 28/07/03 Concept Planning for New Chinese Tourist Complex International business and technology consultant High-Point Rendel has been appointed to assist in the concept planning of a new tourist complex in the Chinese resort of Sanya. The project involves the development of Xiaoqi Harbour and West Island, a small island approximately 2km offshore. Sanya is on the southernmost tip of Hainan Island, the smallest Chinese province, with a population of more than six million people. Belt Collins has been appointed by the Client, Sanya Xidao Tourism Development Co Ltd, to prepare a development plan for both sites, and High-Point Rendel's role is to undertake a conceptual engineering study, lasting two to three months, for harbour facilities at both locations. The development - with hotels and other leisure facilities - will include a passenger service between the two sites and a marina accommodating 150 boats at Xiaoqi Harbour. | biomax
28/7/2003 18:09 | panagos - 02 May'03 - 23:49 - 35 of 167 edit Having read the interims, this is a potential multi bagger if the bank's dont pull the plug. It would be wise to wait until 31.05.03 to see bank's support and act accordingly imho dyor ask nunny b4 investing etc etc -------------------- I still believe the above and eyeing this like a hawk (thanks to the 90% & biomax mentioning it on cri bb). What a potential if loans get sorted out...... Mcap 1m........lolol That spread though is a killer eh? | panagos
28/7/2003 17:53 | 2 mms 30% spread 2000 NMS hmmmmmmmmmmmm....... | panagos |
