Good to see a new appointment. Hopefully it will prove a good one for FUTR:

Future has appointed Jason Kemp to its Executive Leadership Team as eCommerce & Trading Director

Jason will focus on Future’s merchandising strategy, improving funnel conversion and developing retail best practice. He will also work on promotions and deals alongside supporting the development of Future’s product roadmap.

Got home tonight to see these up on huge volume which is pleasing.

The Capital Market day recently has clearly caught the attention of the institutions to drive such massive volume and if someone is selling millions someone is buying millons. The price rising on the deal is very positive. They clearly want to be in before the AGM and trading statement next week.

70% earnings growth, 80% margins and big operaional cashflow.

GANP.

The danger here is that Schroders start selling their big stake again. They are very trigger happy with stakes in companies nowadays.

I hold FUTR.

Why would they need a placing? They had £2.8m cash at the end of the year and £6m operating cashflow. 0.4p adjusted eps, 80% margins.

If they were going to have a placing would the directors not wait till then and buy shares in the placing rather than buy them in the market a month ago, ahead of the forthcoming trading update.

Earnigs are forecast to grow over 70% in the coming year.

I'm rather pleased they were highlighted elsewhere for me.

Looks like a good disposal to me.
£24m for non core assets and covers c.90% of the market cap.
After accounting for debt the Techradar brand and Tech/consumer titles must make this a decent recovery/value play?
Graph looks good too!

In the dim and distant past, I used to buy Amiga Format, which was published by Future. One of their writers went off to work for a caravan magazine, which showed a distinct lack of confidence. ;)

The decline of the Amiga, and hence obviously the magazine, was known in late 1993. Amazingly, it managed to struggle on until 2000. I had long since given up interest in Amigas, but I occasionally took a look at the circulation figures. They didn't make for inspiring reading.

Ah. Happy days.
