Panmure Gordon - I see they again have FTC "Under Review" today....the same as since March 16. Hopefully they will feel confident enough to now produce some forecast numbers?

Any body know when next Techinvest comes out? Have a strong feeling that they might do a moré extensive piece next time! Effect on share price would be dramátic as it looks as though the institutional sellers have finished.

"Filtronic tied off the loose ends in its C-suite with the appointment of Michael Tyerman as Finance Director from 1st April 2016. This frees CEO Rob Smith, who has been discharging the dual CEO and CFO role. This follows a period of good news from Filtronic of late, as the company (after a very difficult period) appears to have found its mojo. To recap our view: we are very encouraged by; (i) the win rate, (ii) the sharper focus post restructuring, (iii) despite a difficult 24 months this remains an engineering-led organisation; while the roots of success will come from better sales execution, and an improved macro, we like the fact that the heritage of ‘product excellence’ remains intact, (iv) management has a purposeful clarity regarding next steps and concentrates on the ‘show-me-the-money’ commercials..."

Techinvest did a full write-up this month and added 150k shares in their portfolio (was a New Buy rec. last month) - getting some attention today probably due to that.

Yes, AISHAH....the key hear is, as you write, "more contract wins". I'm sure we shall see these. For those who are waiting to read of suchlike before buying it will be too late to then dive in as the FTC share price has always seen quite sharp moves at times when things are developing there.

Chart on a 6 month breakout now. Volume has been very healthy over the last few days too. Pretty low mkt cap and with turnaround strategy in place, any more contract wins and we should move higher quickly. dyor

8p was paid 0900hrs today for a 53,500 k lot.
The best ask is now 8.25p, with the total ask ranging from that and up to 9.25p highest.
5 mm's, each with only 20k showing bid/ask, so all ready to lift further.

fillipe - Or maybe they sold off a big chunk of themselves which means that the £300 million turnover is unlikely to repeated unless they go on a shopping spree funded by placings.

Still that little piece allowed some to dump before the end of the tax year at a much improved price.

I've just located the FT article of 26/27 inst.

Starts "Is the bad news over for Filtronic...." and comments on the share price rise after "bumper $7.9m order". The rest is mainly a synopsis of past £££; history and the recent restructuring.
The interesting last paragraph .... " Filtronic was spun out of Leeds University in 1977 and in the 1990's had annual turnover of about £300m".

All in all, it's a simply a good comment on how it is at FTC, imo.

Bring on that £300m again!

Doobz - It doesn't have to be tipped. It is highly receptive to negative and positive comment. Hence the early buying followed by selling.

Techinvest made them a speculative recovery buy last month at 5.38p. I've added following recent contract wins. Hargreave Hale also upped their holdings on the 23rd.
