05/1/2017 10:39 | Just look at the price action of EVRH to see a tangible example of the buzz around VR at the moment!! | trotterstrading
05/1/2017 10:33 | I agree Mustardmark. Very exciting times ahead that's why I'm also holding EVRH if anyone is interested in VR. FFWD needs time and patience as we have been saying. | moormoney
05/1/2017 09:30 | Cast your mind back to the film 'The Lawnmower Man', early 1990's I believe - a lot of the film was based on anticipated VR technology and applications - much of this has come to pass albeit at a much slower pace than originally forecast. Gaming wise it is a very exciting time - early days yet but the potential is massive. Franchises such as Call of Duty need this shot in the arm, their latest offering Infinite Warfare has performed very poorly - I was collared by a nerd in Game just before Christmas and he told me that Activision had originally planned to release Modern Warfare remastered and Infinite Warfare separately, however, such was the demand for Modern Warfare remastered and a drop of 80% for Infinite, the latest one, they decided to bundle them together. After ten years of a new release every year gamers have become bored of 'more of the same, just a new backdrop'. Developments in VR will allow them to reboot the franchise. I'm also very excited by the commercial ramifications - VR modelling of possible new products, cars, buildings etc. Considerably cheaper than existing methods and allows remote access, just pop on a headset and a team can visually discuss and analyse a project wherever they are based in the world. As I said, early days yet - hopefully Google's Daydream (released Nov 16) and Samsungs Gear VR will be the kickstarter for mass adoption in the industry - once the hardware is in place and relatively inexpensive, developers will follow suit. | mustardmark
05/1/2017 08:38 | Following on from yesterday's news I think it's safe to say that the slide has ended mustardmark! As a gaming enthusiast you must be fascinated by all the virtual reality innovations in the industry. | doodlebug4
05/1/2017 07:50 | Morning All - I don't like seeing 'when will this slide end thread' being the top thread first thing in the morning! | mustardmark
04/1/2017 19:51 | well done db4, we should hope to get some news from you . | canalet3
04/1/2017 18:57 | It will be interesting to see what valuation is put on the Leap Gaming share price if/when it is listed in the USA. I have family in the USA and they are watching this development with considerable interest.:-) | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 15:11 | I like the way you're thinking mustardmark! Trump gets a bad press in this country, but he's a successful businessman after all and I wonder if the USA's student debt problem will be properly addressed in his term as President. Vemoed could be another Investee company to benefit. | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 14:42 | Regarding Leap Gaming - just speculating but possibly Pala Interactive LLC could be the possible cornerstone partner? Last September they launched a joint venture offering a free to play virtual sports product which according to Leap is a first for the US. Another possible connection is the recent appointment of Teufelberger as a consultant and his links to GVC. In an ideal world (and letting my imagination run wild)......Trump, just after his inauguration and riding high on opinion polls following Ford's announcement that it is cancelling it's Mexico plant investment, announces a 'Cash Repatriation Month' for February. This incoming wall of cash would be ultilized in a variety of ways (although not principally in the way the government had hoped!!)and create some very large war chests looking for a new home. 2017 then becomes a bumper year of M&A's and fuels the feelgood factor for Trump - all of this bodes well for any firms looking to IPO in the US :) | mustardmark
04/1/2017 14:14 | Some interesting info here; | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 14:02 | 14p being paid now, I think this will get back to 15p quite soon Lauders! | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 13:35 | SatoshiPay and Meinhard update news on their Twitter feeds regularly Lauders, so perhaps the company doesn't think updating the website comes high on the list of priorities. | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 13:25 | Nice update today. Hopefully back to 15p at least over the next week or so and then onwards. If FFWD and other investee companies can step-up the non-twitter newsflow it may help, or at least combine with twitter feeds. Tried to push Satoshipay to update their website by the end of last year as they indicated to me in a message last year with no luck. Sent another reminder to them yesterday and so far nothing. Not suprised, but at least I did get a direct reply from the CEO last year. | lauders
04/1/2017 12:42 | As rafboy said earlier, it will be interesting to see what happens when the markets open in the USA. It will be quite a feat if Leap Gaming can achieve a listing over there. | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 11:56 | Volume now 1.7 million. We saw 1.8 million on 21st Dec which coincided with the low point of 9.88p. We then had the 2.7 million on the 28th which kicked of the current rise which is gathering pace this morning. | 888icb
04/1/2017 11:36 | Flagon, thank you for that - interesting. | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 11:31 | It's good to see Lorne Abony delivering on his promises and it all goes to help investor's confidence. Far too many companies - and not just on the AIM market - have smooth talking CEOs who never back up the promises or outlook for the future in their trading statements. | doodlebug4
04/1/2017 11:30 | Fag packet musings and idle speculation ... At 30/9/2016 - shares outstanding including those held in treasury and options were approx 151 Million. Schoold book value £1.311 Million Leap Gaming book value £2.7 Million Diluted NAV of 7.82p Now if Schoold & Leap Gaming were to achieve a ROI of 5X (FFWD aims for a 8-10 return over 3 years on average) the combined value would be worth an extra £16.044 Million gross or an extra 10.6p per share to the NAV which would rise to 18.42p. I'm sure there would be some tax to pay and various selling costs so that has to borne in mind. The company would also be left (as a previous poster said) with the jewel of Yooya. That being said maybe the divestments achieve a lot less than 5X. | flagon
04/1/2017 11:27 | Will be interesting to see if we have some buying from the US later today as Leap will launch stateside if it happens. | rafboy
04/1/2017 10:37 | Yes, there were some large trades before Christmas but as they say, follow the money! | rafboy
04/1/2017 10:34 | Fantastic start to 2017 and long may it continue :) - now remind me, my memory is slightly hazy over the festive period probably due to excess Sherry consumption but was there not several significant buys prior to this announcement (e.g. 1 million tranches)?? Not sure on the blackout rules for pending deals but does seem fishy(imho)! Whilst I'm not naïve to these events occurring it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth for us long term holders holding our nerve and scratching around for information. Anyways, onwards and upwards. | mustardmark
04/1/2017 10:18 | Yooya really is the jewel in the crown imo and ffwd have a substantial stake in. If and when that ipos I believe the share price here will be many multiples of where it is now. | wolf9
04/1/2017 10:12 | When you consider what Yooya could be worth at IPO this really is very very cheap at the current share price IMHO. | rafboy |
