Views make a market and in my view I'm sticking with FCAM for the longer term.

the rise in the past few months has been great if you've bought in during the last couple of years. but looking at the long term chart, I find it hard to believe that anyone could say FCAM was anything like over-valued.

Read a big article in The evening standard tonight basically it said leave well alone dramatic change could cause an uncertain future i go along with that, talk of a takeover i think is a lot of hot air imo

Do you think there's any likelihood of 200? there could well be alot of consolidation in the FM sector - far too many of them still. And some are ripe for takeover.

I'm trying to gradually reduce my financials exposure as I fear we are nearing the height of irrational exuberance. Markets have sped past the underlying economy. Whilst some figures are coming in good, others still point to a massive deleveraging still to take place. So much debt issuance due this year, not just from soveriegns, just to tick things over. Not good. At some point rates will have to rise too, again, not good.

I just feel people have got ahead of themselves. Witness an Oil company, with little in the way of assets being valued at 150m pounds! Clearly ridiculous.

Fangorn we're nearly at your 100p figure now why on earth would we want to sell for so little? 200p maybe but no way we should be selling out less than that.

I just wish Sherbourne would put us all out of our misery with a 100+ bid. Having bought at 60p that'll do nicely. Will miss the juicy div though but there are plenty of other investments(Will probably buy some Merchants Trust, or more Aviva/RSA) to keep financials exposure weighting.

Well I've read the Sherborne Investors rationale for the resolutions and I have to say that they have some good points, particularly on the high priced REIT and Thames River Capital acquisitions.

Once again I find myself asking if I should exit.

Interesting to see all the broker comments/targets, no one seems terribly positive!

My main problem is that I dont have a target company in mind to switch my investment to.

I am overweight in FCAM so I guess what I may end up doing is selling half now and let the rest of it run.

Well, we've had a few downgrades recently but it doesn't seem to have done the share price any harm so far!!

£12m savings - interesting RNS - should add 20% to forecast profits next year imo.

Gartmore in process of succumbing to Henderson bid @ 92p/share odd, or thereabouts. Rather ignominious end if you ask me for a company only recently floated~

Seems like it and who can blame them after the constant rise. Not having mine yet though and may even add if it's a bigger dip.

Don't see any reason why it can't get there and even higher over the next year or so. Certainly if all this money on the sidelines comes back into equities in 2011 then FCAM should benefit strongly. A good place to be I think tom so no reason to sell yet imho.

I'm not really sure if the rise is due to the challenge or not as I don't really see a benefit. In any case the share price has been rising for a while and certainly well before the activity to change the management. This fell like everything else due to people exiting equities and general market sentiment and it seems to be picking up now confidence is returning. I see fund managers as growth stocks in 2011 and I don't see any need to change the current management righ now.
