01/8/2012 10:18 | Indeed, the possibility of a takeover has kept me in longer than I anticipated. Divi yield of circa 3.4% currently (apparently according to one site) not the 5.5%+ it was when I recall buying it. Concur re time to turn the ship around - F&C is a historic name, has a great reputation. In fact F&C was the first company I invested in, with one of their savings plans, back in 1986 when I first entered the investment scene as a 16 year old :) Looking to close all my "financial sector" related exposures | fangorn2
01/8/2012 10:09 | Fangorn2 this ship will take time to turn round. The divi is covered x3 so its on a sound footing. In the meantime fcam could be a t/o target. GL if you sell,no offence intended | tom111
01/8/2012 10:00 | Eh, I did read the report. I think you'll find that assets under management fell predominantly because strategic partners withdrew funds, and not as a result of exchange rate movements as you claim. From the report.## AUM Investment gains added £4.5bn to AUM Net client asset withdrawals of £4.7 billion From the report! - "This substantially offset net client asset withdrawals of £4.7 billion which predominantly comprised Strategic Partner assets and Wholesale funds in Europe) AUM reduced by unfavourable exch rate movements to tune of £1.6bn From the report! - "However, the effect of the declining Euro to Sterling exchange rate reduced reported assets under management by £1.6 billion" So net client asset withdrawal nearly 3 times greater impact than unfavourable exchange rate AUM reduction. I still hold, but am thinking of selling as the divi yield is substantially lower than when I bought it. | fangorn2
01/8/2012 09:51 | If you read the report assets fell as a result of exchange movements, still im happy to stay the course. With a bit of luck we may be in the blue at the end of the day | tom111

29/7/2012 17:20 | We are now on a high over the 12 month period and personally i would expect the share price to start travelling north after a period of consolidation and a possible t/o situation. PS Nice and quiet here, always a good sign | tom111
27/7/2012 20:38 | Looks that way...management must be turning this great institution around. Either that or a predator. Either way it's encouraging. | topvest
27/7/2012 15:59 | The chart looks good ,are we about to break out? | tom111
11/7/2012 21:11 | Hi Hope someone can help. I am interested in buying shares in this company. As I understand it, FCAM has 3 strategic partners: Millenium BCP, Achmea and Friends Life. Can anyone explain what the terms Strategic Partner means. Also my understanding is that Friends Life have not committed for FCAM to continue managing its Funds. When does this contract between Friends Life and FCAM expire. I also understand FCAM is the biggest Strategic Partner, so what effect would it have on the Share Price. Is it in the price already? Thanks Eugene | eugenik
03/7/2012 21:27 | Well the F&C Barrow Hanley US Trust launch has been canned unfortunately. Not surprising given market conditions, but you would have though F&C would have got more support before giving it a whirl. Disappointing as looked an attractive vehicle. Maybe they will try again later! | topvest
28/6/2012 10:55 | Jefferies "Buy", TP 120p! Target looks a bit generous in this environment. If it gets there I'm gone. Siga buy TROR 160,000 shares @ 81.85p. Plenty of daily TROR purchases by Siga it seems... | fangorn2
21/6/2012 12:23 | Indeed, taking the same view here. nice bit of capital appreciation, and a chunky yield. Happy to hold whilst Brammers seemingly turns things around. Best performer of my financial holdings. | fangorn2
21/6/2012 10:42 | Fangorn2 - You've blown it now, I log on have a look, no posts, and the shares go up, very healthy in my opinion must mean long term buyers. I have no intention of selling, I'm waiting to see what Siga are up to. | chrisgail
21/6/2012 10:01 | Amazing how a quiet board often translates onto a healthy share price rise..Siga continue their endless stake building(Mostly via Tror's it seems).. Anyone getting tempted to lighten their positions? | fangorn2 |
