|I like this mornings notification of the director purchase. He would not pick now to buy 20000 for his SIPP unless he felt the current share price was too low.|
|eOne lays out Canvas investment
Transatlantic producer-distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has invested in digital outfit Canvas Media Studios.
The ‘strategic investment,’ financial details of which were not disclosed, will see Canvas expand its distribution, production and financing of premium scripted content for digital, TV and OTT services.
The prodco will also work with eOne Television on a first-look basis for production and distribution to bring its content to worldwide audiences across all media.
Canvas was founded by Emmy- winning creator Bernie Su and media executive David Tochterman, who was a digital strategy consultant for PBS, ABC and Starz. Prior to that he worked for Innovative Artists and Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment.
John Morayniss, CEO of eOne Television, said: “As we think about the future of storytelling, we are pleased to be in business with innovators that bring new models to the table and complement our business.
“Together, we are well-positioned to find opportunities in rapidly developing media and platforms.”
Tochterman added: “In addition to providing resources to fulfil our vision for developing and producing multi-platform premium scripted content, eOne’s strategic investment in Canvas Media Studios will enable us to pursue a range of distribution and co-financing opportunities, including identifying third-party content.”
Canvas’s slate includes drama Socio, a follow-up to its Stylehaul series Vanity, which will be produced for MTV, as well as experimental 360° scripted comedy series The Mobile Oval.
EOne joins Allen DeBevoise’s Third Wave Digital and MNM Creative as investors in Canvas Media.|

|The guardian have a story about the peppa pig film due out next year.
Also nice to see The BFG at number one in the dvd charts whilst still pulling $40k a week at the cinema.|
|Entertainment one still riding high in the UK cinema charts with two movies in the top five Bad Santa 2 whilst not getting great reviews sits at number four and Arrival which has had great reviews sits at number 5|
|I think you'll find it more likely that ITV will be on the receiving end of a takeover bid themselves, within the next few months.
Happy holding here. Expecting to be in the 260-280 range within the next 9 months.|
|The reason I took my loss and sold at 229 on results day was the fact that ETO management had clearly stated that they were trading "in line" but it is very clear that the results were nowhere near what the investment community was expecting so I no longer have any faith in the management.
If it drops back into the 180s I might revisit but I really do feel that the current management is not capable of properly exploiting the business assets, particularly the supposed $1.5BN library.
Who knows a bid of 250 from ITV in a few months might be enough to win over the Canadian pension fund.|
|I doubt it will drop to £2.00 BOD seem happy and confident with the situation and the share always favours the 2nd half of the year so after the recent shakedown of some holders there seems little reason to sell out now. Perhaps we will get a little Santa rally as a bonus.|
|Thank you for that thorough analysis Katie. Your such a valued member of the threads you contribute to.|
|Support at around about 200p , if not down to 170 - 175.|
|JP Morgan Cazenove‘Overweight’ 246 price target.|
|U are so right tini5. Worth looking at the investment profile in the last Edison note which shows this content library valuation is only going vertical from here over next three years. Now they themselves might not get the required return from it, but sooner or later it will attract attention of someone who can properly leverage it ...|

|It would appear the market agrees.|
|Look at the chart over the last 9 months. Ups and downs through 2016 but overall an share price movement that reflects growth. In 12 months time, that drop on the chart will just look like the rest, a temporary pull back on the inexorable way upwards.|
|agree - management appear very confident numbers coming through in second half and shares now back trading on 9x forward earnings|

|Complete overreaction yesterday. Back up we go|
|You are talking absolute rubbish|
|I'm not sure you should be expecting a lot of cash for shareholders if you buy into a company that is aiming to double in size through acquisition and organic investment!|
|Let us know when you are back in Rivaldo!
Have a lot of respect for your investment decisions.
|Without a bid these will be below 2 quid soon. Itv completely vindicated in their decision not to pay more. Will this company every generate cash for shareholders?|
|Big volume sells in the auction. 1/2 million maybe.|
|Don't know about that Masurenguy. There's an awful lot of AT trades going through for it to be mainly PIs - looks like program trading to me which could be private or institutional couldn't it?|
|Almost entirely small PI's selling today with an average transaction of 1375 shares or circa £3000 in value.|
|Surprise, surprise, here come the big buyers, having waited for the short termers to exit.
A 6 month view might be 1) they hit the full year and the price recovers. 2) They don’t and the price drops at results to 180 which then opens up bidders who want the library
What a good fit to ITV. If these results are due to cos and admin both would be sorted by the ITV team. Presumably the CFO has paid the price (the write 3 letters – see below)
CTO chairman and ITV ceo are both ex ASDA recovery with Archie Norman. Allan L CTO ch did a great job with Pace at a great sale price, so it must be the big holders (3 with 50%) who blocked it. I think they will also take the 6 month view above.
Just my view DYOR
Man taking new job goes in early and bumps into his predecessor, and asks for any tips.
Predecessor says I left you 3 letters in desk top draw – any bad results open letters in order
After a month some bad result so opens the first letter which says blame your immediate predecessor. Which he does and the board accepts
Next set of bad results he opens 2nd letter which says blame you immediate subordinate and sack him. Which he does and the board accepts
At the next set off bad results he quite relaxed with another letter left which he opens and it says
” Write 3 letters!”|
