|Kodi - good question - I know many who are dropping Sky and BT and Netflix and going for Kodi and similar sites - for nought.
You would think this free avenue has to be closed down - it gets more recent stuff than Sky|
|The award wins gave la la land a nice boost last week.
"Fellow musical La La Land was just a hair behind, earning $2.306 million from 210 screens. The eOne film boasts the better screen average, at $11,088 per location compared to Sing’s $7,641, and is up 36 per cent, a boost most likely thanks to its seven Golden Globe wins last week. The awards season favourite, also recently nominated for 11 BAFTA Awards, sits on a total of $11.2 million after three weeks."
|What are people's thought about the rise and rise of kodi ???|
|“ITV is one of the most likely M&A candidates in our coverage, given its content ownership [about 35% of 2017 estimated revenues], lack of ownership restrictions and sterling weakness” the broker (Goldman Sachs) said. It talked, too, about the rising importance of content and scale in distribution and of fragmented end-markets, such as events and agencies, that could benefit from further consolidation.
The same principles apply to ETO so an approach may possibly emerge at anytime !|
|Anyone got any feedback on the small drop back? Any rumours?|
|La La Land the big winner at the Golden Globes last night. Eone has distribution in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.|
|Anything cooking here at the moment? Price seems to be getting a bit of support lately. Any takeover talk starting again?|
|Good article from screendaily. Reinforces Throop's comments in half year accounts.|

|Peppa Pig golden boots is the old film released back in 2015. The latest is Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience due out on the 7th April in the uk.
These arent full films but a new long episode with extra normal new episodes. Interactive, sing along types.
Golden boots took $3.5m at the UK box office.|
|2016 dvd sales chart released with The BFG at number 8, not bad seeming as its only been released a few weeks. The last witch hunter at #34, Allegiant at #63, Oasis Supersonic #68, Stickman #70, Eye in the sky #71, Now you see me 2 #80, David Brent life on the road #94.
Compare this to 2015 when the highest was number 35 A walk among the tombstones.
|amoore70: There are some special Aussie episodes (where Peppa meets koalas and kangaroos) that are being shown together in cinemas as a 'film'.|
|Is there two films coming out then? As this is a different one to Peppa's Australian Holiday.|
|Thank you am70|
|There is a Peppa Pig movie which is being released in Australia first presumably cos it's called Peppa Pig's Australian holiday. Due out in March I think. UK and US release dates are not announced yet.|
|Mr Spock, someone mentioned that Peppa Pig was due out in China and there would be a movie soon... Do you have any info on it?|
The show is heading to Belgium and France thanks to new sales with OUFtivi and Cartoon Network.
Entertainment One (eOne) has inked a line of new broadcast deals for its 2D-animated series Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong.
Cartoon Network in France and public broadcaster OUFtivi in Belgium have secured broadcast rights to the first series of the show, which will air in France from February 2017 and in Belgium from June 2017.
“We are extremely excited to introduce the hijinks of Winston and friends to kids and families in France and Belgium when the show launches next year,” said Monica Candiani, head of international sales at eOne Family.
“The growing list of countries now on board is testament to the show’s universal appeal of laughter and adventure.”
The episodes from the first series were also recently sold to Clan TVE in Spain and BIGGS in Portugal, plus the show has also begun to roll out in multiple territories.
In addition, it will be heading to MBC Group in the Middle East and North Africa from September 2017.|
The Mark Gordon Company and parent Entertainment One have inked a multi-year partnership with film producer Xavier Marchand’s newly-established prodco, Moonriver Content.
The move means LA-based Mark Gordon gains a foothold in the European production market, as film- and television-focused Moonriver is based in London.
“We are eager to expand into Europe, and finding strong projects requires deep relationships and experience,” said company founder and CEO Mark Gordon...|
In October, U.S. telecommunications giant AT&T Inc agreed to acquire media conglomerate Time Warner Inc for $85.4 billion, while last week Rupert Murdoch's Twenty-First Century Fox Inc reached a preliminary agreement to acquire the 61 percent of Sky Plc it does not already own, valuing the British broadcaster at $23 billion.
Viacom has already been looking at some modest acquisitions. Last month it acquired Argentine broadcaster Telefe for $345 million in cash, and in 2014 it paid $760 million for British broadcaster Channel 5.
Were Bob Bakish, who was named on Monday as the permanent replacement of previous Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman, to explore more acquisitions, he could again look across the Atlantic for opportunities beyond the fiercely competitive U.S. media market, the sources said.
German broadcaster ProSiebenSat 1 and its main rival, RTL Group , would be logical targets, the sources said, as would ITV Plc in Britain and Entertainment One in Canada. However, Viacom's $12 billion debt pile makes it unlikely it would spend top dollar on acquisitions.|
|No santa rally evident yet on the ftse 250 santa is leaving it late this year or perhaps we have all been naughty and he is not coming at all.|
|Yeah I spotted that too Mas. A large buy order yet to be fully filled and reported, or some rumopurs doing the rounds?|
|Hmmmm...significant move up this morning (5%) on just an average daily volume!|
|Might ITV think about another go at ETO as a defensive move against someone taking a run at ITV?|
|Sky on the block. ETO next?|
