scarletpimpernel2 - Buying ahead of EGM in January. If all goes to plan the £1.7m held by DXR will get swiftly invested in silver stocks. Have a look at AHG to see what we hope will happen here.

Anybody seen a proxy form yet? A week to go and no-one seems to have seen one.

8 days to got to the EGM, including a weekend and a couple of bank holidays, and no-one seems to have even seen a proxy form. With the current postal back log one could argue that proxy votes are not likely to be having much effect on the EGM. I know at least one poster that will be casting doom and gloom about that in the near future. Does anyone know if the resolutions are passed by vote of those present at the EGM or whether a percentage vote is required for the whole share holding?

andrbea - Welcome to the thread. AHG is pretty nearly fully invested so something would have to be sold to generate the cash or another fund raising exercise carried out which probably would not go down well with current investors as the NAV is less than the share price. With DXR (AHG's silver sister) hopefully going to invest in silver early January, I can't see TW getting Athol involved in silver, although a joint investment is theoretically possible if TW sees a better deal somewhere. I certainly feel that silver is going to be one of the places to be next year so I have more DXR than AHG, especially if JP Morgan finally admit they are beaten.

I can only assume that whoever is posting under Fairdeal2008 on sharecrazy has adopted my username without my knowledge (until now).

It is not me for sure.

As to my postings, mainly on advfn, the vast majority of the stocks I have highlighted have done exceptionally well, probably 30plus with two or three not having performed as I expected.

People who feel differently than the latter paragraph are continuously asked by me to provide evidence to the contrary - nobody ever has. It's a simple as that.

DXR imho will be one of the better performers in 2011. And in that opinion I differ from many. Fortunately, the stocks I highlight that have performed the best have almost alays been those where dissenters attack my suggestion in the early days. I am a contrarian, the more people attack the more I buy. Except here where I would go above 3% if I bought more and have no desire to do that.

imho - best fortune in 2011 folks.
