23/2/2006 13:14 | Phillis Thanks for your enlightening revelation. So, it's only MM's that can manipulate the price. That's worth knowing. Many thanks. lol. | rebess
23/2/2006 12:57 | They don't collude with MMs! | phillis
23/2/2006 12:25 | Phillis. lol. I think you're right, I have no idea how private equity works. Perhaps you could enlighten me! | rebess
23/2/2006 11:57 | As with all so-called management buyouts, this bid means that the management see value in the shares not reflected in the current share price, and intend to get that value for themselves. If they are right, there is some chance of a counterbid, so it could be a mistake to sell out too soon. | diogenesj
23/2/2006 11:40 | Sold this morning at 420p. Have doubled my money and guessed that I would be risking it a little if the deal fell through. Not often I have been lucky with shares but URM and COR came good in the end. (Have my fingers crossed that ULT will make it BIG this year/next...) All the best to the regulars - see you on another board perhaps. | spurrier
23/2/2006 10:21 | Then you obviously have no idea of how private equity works Stick with the building soc in future | phillis
23/2/2006 09:57 | realcool - dak Thankyou Just one further point of no significance. The announcement of the offer clears up some of the mystery involved in unexplainable irrational price movements in the share over recent months. Many contributors to this thread have expressed bewilderment at the erratic movement of the share price on very low volumes and for no apparent reason, even after glowing progress reports by the board. I now believe there has been collusion with Planet Acquisitions resulting in a deliberate manipulation of the share price, ultimately to the detrement of the small shareholder. IMHO. | rebess
23/2/2006 09:31 | Rebess, my understanding is CGT for AIM shares is reduced to 20% after holding for one year, and to 10% after two or more years. | realcooltrader
23/2/2006 09:18 | Rebess Yes you are right!! | dak
23/2/2006 09:00 | Am I right in thinking that chorion is an AIM stock and benefits from reduced CGT providing it has been held for 2 years? Would appreciate comment. | rebess
23/2/2006 08:54 | Yep, that was my reason, I wanted the cash this FY for GCT purposes to offset a disaster elsewhere :-( | realcooltrader
23/2/2006 08:49 | Because you'll have to wait til April to get your dosh. | cravencottage
23/2/2006 08:49 | It seems as though it's a done deal at the same time as the official announcement of an approach. I thought it had to be the other way around! | rebess
23/2/2006 08:40 | if the offer is at £4.25 why are people selling at £4.20? | maconscreen
23/2/2006 08:28 | Good luck with the counter offer Dave, I'm following the herd this morning and have sold at £4.20p. | realcooltrader
23/2/2006 08:22 | Well pleased with the 425p especially as I have more than a few bought at 13p for the OLD Chorion I very much doubt a hostile bid here at this price but bring them on !!! Sweenoid :-) :-) | sweenoid
23/2/2006 08:10 | Ali strikes again! Obviously own Chairman recognises the value - but will any other bidder? | broadwood

22/2/2006 17:59 | whoops that would be good 68% rise if only. I'll settle for 68p in a day.... | adelwire
