28/3/2006 09:40 | hi y'all ....and we'll never know what they found and did not like in their due diligence - on that basis don't hold your breath for ER bi bi | sweetiepye
28/3/2006 07:38 | oh well :-( ER still in the frame so will hold for outcome - worse result is the mbo offer of 425p Sweenoid | sweenoid
27/3/2006 12:17 | Something afoot here! The mystery surrounding this buyout deepens. | rebess
26/3/2006 12:14 | times reporter is obvously CONFUSED :-) good news to see that the name of ER's finantial advisors are in the public forum regards Dave | sweenoid
26/3/2006 11:22 | Also from the times online. Entertainment Rights, the owner of Postman Pat and Basil Brush, has appointed Bank of America to make an informal approach for Chorion, the owner of Noddy, The Times has learnt. ER was yesterday forced by the Takeover Panel to issue a statement on whether it was interested in a bid for Chorion. | slaterlp
26/3/2006 11:18 | From the times on line today . APAX also in the running see link below All a bit confusing. Why would HIT abandon? Doesn't APAX own Hit anyway? I dont understand whats going on here. See below. "A move for Chorion would be a logical step for Apax, according to media analysts. Last week Chorion agreed a recommended offer by 3i. Europe's largest private-equity group is backing a management team led by the Chorion chairman, Lord Alli, and the chief executive, Nicholas James. But analysts believe that Apax, which acquired Hit in a contested bid last year, should be able to pay more because it can generate cost-savings by merging the two companies. 3i has agreed to pay 425p a share. Under company law, Chorion has to make available the same financial data to any potential bidder that requests it, and Apax is keen to study the information in detail to assess whether it thinks it can pay more. All parties declined to comment. | slaterlp
26/3/2006 10:00 | I noticed this at the end of an article about ITV in the Sunday Times today: "Hit Entertainment, the owner of Bob the Builder, is this week expected to abandon plans to bid for Chorion, parent company of Noddy, which is the subject of a management buyout backed by 3i." I don't see the connection........ | miguel

24/3/2006 07:52 | did the ER interest generate any press this morning ????? it makes a good story Sweenoid | sweenoid
23/3/2006 21:41 | management were taking the mickey at 425p relying on fed-up investors being prepared to take the money and run. After all this time the company has been turned around and the Mr Men franchise is just about to deliver and Noddy mature (the AC and crime franchise has always done welland will continue to thrive in it's gendre) This investor and his wife will sit it out to the bitter and inevitably more profitable end £5 is the price for my shares .... I will be more than happy with that.and to be frank I suspect that figure is close to what the current management would be prepared to offer (if they HAVE to ) as well!! Sweenoid | sweenoid
23/3/2006 18:41 | hi y'all my how things change - way back one of the bbs stated words to the effect that staying independent was not a solution - this is a low yielding asset - at best a (very) long term one - it is an excellent portfolio whatever happens from here the crying need is for very large amounts of very cheap money so the timing could not be better for the private equity lads - properly geared this is a very good business - but hargreaves shows just how much you need and even now we don't know how long it will take to show an acceptable low yield for us the question is "do we get out now or do we stay for the ride ?" - assuming the company can get access to a large amount of long term debt (securitised on its revenue) is it not possible that the ali and team might put forward an incentive scheme to give them what they want but leaving the company as is ? i think they might get enough support...... but i would want some new non-execs this could be a good long term play - any thoughts ? nite nite ps i don't see this as an auction..... of course i could be wrong.... | sweetiepye

23/3/2006 17:20 | IF either HIT or ER bid it will be at 460p initially , I fully expect a counter-bid by management at that level which to be taken seriously would have to come in at circa 475p 500p is a possibility but we have to have an aggressive bid 1st! Sweenoid | sweenoid
23/3/2006 16:31 | hit entertainment, entertainment rights, blairs mate and management looks like a bidding war in the making imho, and this is not including DISNEY, who was mentioned as a predator when we were spun from original chorion. dyor regards active dare i mention 500p our target. | srpactive
23/3/2006 16:29 | Entertainment Rights join the party spendid ....... PRESS SPECULATION REGARDING CHORION PLC ("CHORION") The Board of Entertainment Rights Plc ("Entertainment Rights") notes recent press speculation regarding Entertainment Rights' intentions in respect of Chorion. The Board of Entertainment Rights confirms that it is considering a possible offer for Chorion and wishes to make clear that it is endeavouring to assess the strategic and financial condition of Chorion. The work is at a preliminary stage; shareholders in both Entertainment Rights and Chorion should be aware that there is no certainty that an offer will be forthcoming. Sweenoid | sweenoid
23/3/2006 14:00 | waiting till 460p to even consider giving mine up a calculated gamble but hey that's what this lark is all about isn't it !! :-) on and up Sweenoid | sweenoid
