25/1/2006 17:44 | Spurrier I had some shares cant recall what but the broker rang me up to see if I wanted to sell them. I was at Ultrasis AGM and a share holder wanted the addreses of all holders to be in the public domain. The CEO was having none of it as he could see no benifit to the share holders. Could be COR have released details of share holders but mine for example are held on crest so only selftrade would be contacting me, or they have your details from another source. | goldmachine
16/1/2006 18:17 | Not only that, but Agatha christie seems to be getting quite a lot of TV coverage at the moment, and poirot dvds are being advertised too. | slaterlp
16/1/2006 14:41 | would imagine there would be both a licensing AND a small royalty based on attendence etcetc the important thing here is it keeps Aunt Agatha's work in the public prtescence and enables COR to work off the popularity with the much higher revenue earning streams of books and TV films a good question for the agm though Dave | sweenoid
16/1/2006 13:59 | some excellent news the impresario Bill Ken Kenwright has with permission of the Agatha Christie company(COR) set up a TOURING stage company to allow her plays to be shown in the provinces. There has up till recently been an embargo on this -so such a high profile producer like Mr Kenwright is bound to be good for COR Also promises many of her books will appear on a big stage near you soon!!- I will certainly be going to see The Hollow in Cardiff in April look at the cast details .....superb , following the acclaimed success of " and then there was none" in London here is the link regards Dave ps c'mon COR start blowing the pr trumpet!!!!!! | sweenoid

07/1/2006 10:58 | Great news on Noddy! The popularity of old fella perennially appears to confound us. I have to admit that I had become increasingly worried about the claims made by management about their targets for Noddy 'at retail'. Although based on nothing more than simple, and perhaps even naive observation, I could not find many places that appeared to be stocking the merchandise. To begin with, I looked at both department stores and in the airport retail outlets in Hong Kong (on 2 business related visits there in September and October) and didn't find a single item. Perhaps that's not too surprising given the opening of Disney in September - the toy stores were crammed full of Disney merchandise. But, I had seen plenty of Noddy toys in the same outlets in previous years. Then, having receieved lots of 'junk mail' in the form of Xmas linked catalogues from retailers such as John Lewis, I noticed they too had no Noddy merchandise. Not do the biggest of the supermarkets ( Tesco, Asda etc. though Morrisons had Mr. Men related books) Finally, I got a little alarmed by going into an Early Learning Center outlet at the White Rose Center here in Leeds ( a place where I had previously seen lots of Noddy toys) and again discovered there weren't any. The only positive I found was on a golfing holiday in Portugal in december where Noddy was on a Portuguese childrens TV programme. But, here he is, poping up in what ought to be a lucrative enough market in a couple of years. So, even if the targets are not met this year, the future looks assured. | gerrystewart

05/1/2006 15:33 | Noddy heads for German television Noddy and Big Ears are off to Germany after their owners signed a licensing agreement with TV company Nickelodeon. The deal means media group Chorion has acheived its aim of selling the Noddy brand to all of its target audiences - the US, UK, Japan, France and Germany. Chorion snapped up Enid Blyton's Noddy brand for £13m in 1996 and has since sold his £10m, 100-episode computer animated TV series around the world. Nickelodeon Germany broadcasts to 32 million homes. "Selling Noddy into Germany has been a key objective of the company," said Chorion chief executive Nicholas James. "It consolidates Noddy's presence in Europe and means Noddy will be on air in all five of the largest pre-school markets." Chorion also announced that it had sold its Noddy language learning TV series to broadcasters in France, Scandinavia, Norway and Greece. The group owns the rights to a host of well-known characters including the Famous Five, the Mr Men, Hercule Poirot and Inspector Maigret. Last March it announced that pre-tax profits had risen 35% to £4.3m ($8.2m) in 2004, helped by "phenomenal growth" at its children's business. | someuwin
