Secure power systems firm Chloride Group PLC (CHLD.LN) confirmed Monday it had received an approach from Emerson Electric Company (EMR) on April 23 at 275 pence in cash per share which it has rejected as it "significantly undervalues the Company".
MAIN FACTS:
-The approach is subject to a number of pre-conditions, including due diligence and the unanimous recommendation of the Board of Chloride.
-Board confirms that it held discussions in 2008 with Emerson with regard to a 270 pence per share offer and this offer was rejected as it undervalued the Company.
-Board believes the Company has better prospects as result of the steps that it has taken since Emerson's approach in 2008.
-Chloride shares at 0910 GMT up 89.9 pence, or 43%, at 298.9 pence valuing the company at GBP783.84 million.
