It's the Interims I meant.
Gearing gets a mention, you need to look at the interim balance sheet
to see the borrowings.
For me, this figure should have been referred to in the statement.

Hopefully future expansion is measured and careful, maybe it will be.

How much are you expecting the net debt to have changed by ? The interims were only a week ago ! Was there anything in those results that worried you ?

As long as they do not do the usual in this sector, expand too aggressively
and take on too much debt, seen it over and over again.

The last statement did not even quote the net debt, unless I missed it -
not a great sign for the future imo.

Incidentally Nick Collins the FD at CPUB will be attending our dinner and presentation on the 27th and the company hope to do one themselves probably in November after the interims and maybe at one of their newly refurbished pubs.

This came from Wetherspoons today...

In the six weeks to 5 September 2010, like-for-like sales increased by 1.5% and total sales by 7.6%. Our sales, profit and cashflow continue to be resilient and the performance of our recently opened pubs is encouraging. The Board remains confident of a resilient performance by the company in the current financial year.

So pubs relatively bouyant through the late Summer.


Meict...Please note the investor dinner this month has been postponed just by one week and will be on the 27th. It is because the company presenting (RGD) are bringing out their results on the 22nd so we wanted them to be free to speak about them. It will be very well attended and five from the company coming so lots of questions for sure.

Annual General Meeting

We've got this on the 16th; I expect there'll be free beer. It's been more than seven months since I had my last pint (on 19th of January)! Oh well, it's time I taught CPUB's bar staff how to make a Purple Puddle (two shots of blackcurrant in a pint glass, and then fill it with ice and water).

Well, who's coming? Ten thirty with, or without, an excess of beer the night before is a bit early in the morning for me. I expect Mr Dosh will come along, armed with a myriad of suitable questions.

Hopefully, there will be a decent buffet, not just the leftovers from twenty or so London pubs.
