Yep, I should have mentioned that these have long period between announcing the results and setting xd date.Interim will be paid next week -- shares are already xd for the 4.85p.Final results in May, with xd in August.

FYI - The Ex-Dividend date was 29 Dec 2016 for the interim dividend and next Ex-Dividend date will in first half of August.http://www.btplc.com/Sharesandperformance/Dividends/Dividends.htm

Kk--- generally it does not matter --- as the share price will drop by the amount paid out.I tend to average in long term share holdings --- so I would buy both before and after xd, but set cheeky limits and wait (sometimes you fail to buy at your limit -- but that's rare)

Harv :: sorry, most of new positions are in June -- long 320/360 call spreads and short 360/320 put spreads. I am long a March 280/300/320 calls and had sold/short March 380/400 and Dec 400 calls (when share price was 385-399 range)In Feb, I am short 310 straddles. I am long march 320 puts and June 400 puts---- need to close/ tidy on 17/02 expiry.I have taken a gamble that share price won't rise much above 360p (in a hurry). 400p by Dec-2017 is fine with me.Good luck.
