The Churchill Centre has acquired access to the Churchill Archive from Bloomsbury for every secondary school in the USA, UK and Canada in a ground breaking initiative....

Think Churchill Archive, think Publishing Technology PLC.

Good results IMHO. Added a bunch first thing.

Compare them to ETO (where they're kind of in the same business of investing in content and then distributing it). BMY generate masses of free cash whereas ETO is about breakeven on a cash basis. I know which I prefer.

Results look good to me too. Had also hoped for a dip or at least no rise at opening to top up with a few more but no luck!

Results not far away now on the 21st. Trading in line with expectations but it will be interesting to note their views on Ebook revenue etc. Some encouraging news here will hopefully make the news (electronically of course!)

Thanks Harry and good luck with your investing. Looking at the forecasts, the final dividend is reckoned to be 4.53p, a 5/6% increase.I'm glad you like my Value Share forum. I'm a bit quiet at the moment as I'm looking around for fresh ideas.

best wishes

Online drama for Bloomsbury and Faber

BLOOMSBURY Publishing and rival Faber and Faber have joined forces to produce a new website featuring plays stretching from ancient Greece to the modern day.

Published: Thu, May 2, 2013

The companies have offered plays and shows to be viewed online

The technology will allow users access to part books, allowing them to study a given character, and note-taking tools.

Called Drama Online it is aimed at students and lecturers and is intended to help university libraries overcome limited budgets.

Users will be able to access hundreds of plays and reference works at the click of a mouse.

Four years in the planning, it includes works from Bloomsbury's stable including Arden Shakespeare and Methuen Drama and Faber catalogues.

More than 500 titles are already available and that is set to double this year. Among the writers whose work will be on the site are Tom Stoppard, Alan Bennett, Harold Pinter, Willy Russell and David Hare. As well as the plays the collection includes academic works for use on drama, theatre and literature courses.

The technology will allow users access to part books, allowing them to study a given character, and note-taking tools.

Tom Kuhn at Oxford University said it would "open up whole new paths of enquiry for scholars, students and theatre practitioners". ing this on

I've got to add that I believe www.sharelockholmes.com is a much better source for Company date with some 43 financial ratios for each Company, a 10 year trading history and IMHO the best stock screener around all for just £5.95 per month.

Thanks Harry, good luck with everything. IMHO BMY should be a superb buy at current(historically)low levels and if you decide to buy, I think you will definitely see good returns in the coming months.

Hi Harry, go to epic stock code in the title header of this thread, left hand click and a new page will appear then left hand click on "click for fundamentals"(on the right hand side) and scroll down and a list of all interim and final dividend dates will appear with the ex dividend, record dates etc
Last year they paid a 4.31p final dividend on 29/8/12, the previous years were 3.91p,3.65p,3.47p etc.Brokers are forecasting an increase this year.

PTO: sells this on behalf of Bloomsbury.!!

Bloomsbury and Faber's Drama Online, launched today (1st May) in beta, includes a partnership with the Victoria & Albert Museum to illustrate the publishers' collection of hundreds of plays.

The new website, collects the drama lists from Methuen Drama, Arden Shakespeare and Faber, including more than 500 playscripts from Aeschylus to David Hare, as well as the first ever online editions of Bertolt Brecht's works.

The site is aimed at students, researchers and higher education institutions, and combines the texts with in-depth critical support providing context for the drama.

The Drama Online site has also partnered with the V&A Museum to use hundreds of production images from its theatre photo archive.

Drama Online was first conceived four years ago, and combines works from Methuen Drama, Arden Shakespeare and Faber lists. The site contains interactive features such as character grids showing the relative size of roles and and an interface that allows users to search for content across works.

Link to BBC article on (British) Publishers Association figures on 2012 physical and ebook spending. Interesting that while digital spend was up 66% spending on physical books was only down 1% with overall spend up 4% at £3.3bn.
