15/3/2014 08:08 | note: Blackwoods Gin now available in the Sheraton! "The knowledgeable staff guide you through a choice of three (£21) or four (£24), all matched with the recommended tonic and garnish, explaining the difference between them all. It really is an education, without being remotely stuffy. My new favourite is Blackwood's gin from Shetland (glass rinsed out with violet liqueur first, mind), served with Fever-tree tonic and a lime wheel. Oh, but I'm also rather fond of the lovely 1724 tonic, named for the altitude at which it is sourced, on the Inca Trail in the Andes. Yes, really. Decisions, decisions ..." | berny3
11/3/2014 08:32 | Absolutely. Gold win in Spirits award, now Gold at Rum Masters. | berny3
10/3/2014 07:41 | It all helps sales and margins :) | rodrod1
10/3/2014 07:37 | another win for Red Leg Rum | berny3
01/3/2014 07:56 | The RNS clearly shows how low the margins are when distributing third party brands. More than a million pounds in turnover for less than 50k profit. Imagine the time and effort that went in to distributing Mickey Finn. Ending these practices is absolutely the correct strategy and will allow for higher profitability with immediate effect. Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity. The analyst covering BES estimated turnover for the coming fiscal year at something like 1.2 million I think, but that is most likely far too conservative. 1.5 million or more should be possible, as sales of the own brands are increasing dramatically every week. This company is fast shedding its past legacy of losses and will soon be in the black in a sustainable way. The major revaluation is fast approaching. I am adding. | dante17
28/2/2014 21:46 | Looks like a clear focus to improve the margin on their own brands and not chase low margin turnover. No point in being busy fools! I like the strategy and look forward to it paying off. ATB | salonie
28/2/2014 10:47 | I like the RNS - could have better presented probably so that the positives were more apparent.....There is no point in being invested in a busy business that is basically making money for the bankers with only a slim margin left to fund our growth. I do anticipate the results of this correct approach to be quite stunning to the market in due course. Patience required but not a lot of that around in these markets. | rodrod1
28/2/2014 08:08 | The second half of the announcement is more important because it's all about the higher margins; 'we are now achieving much higher margins on sales and as a result are in a far stronger financial position to develop new products and launch them into the UK and International markets' | lanzarote666
28/2/2014 07:59 | might explain the recent weakness. Another nothc down the strategy though. | glennborthwick
26/2/2014 19:12 | Hint taken - I'll leave you all to your silence. | petersinthemarket
25/2/2014 22:15 | TA - an interesting post from a really good advfn thread by Ross: | rodrod1
25/2/2014 22:08 | lol - prefer a cup of tea. There is nothing worth saying at present. I have made my investment and happy to await news in due course. Advfn would be quite silent at times if other board followed this one - only posting withsomethingto say :) | rodrod1
25/2/2014 13:56 | Not a lot of action on the chart or the BB today. This must be one of ADVFN's quietest threads. Is everyone under the table with the products? pete | petersinthemarket
24/2/2014 10:46 | I'm still confident in the future here. Just a low volume, low news issue. Something to ponder for the TA fans. I noticed on the Friday candle chart that there had been a long shadow indicating a failed attempt to reach down to 1.4p, a level similar to that of mid December. Today's candle, at least so far, appears to indicate a solid bottom at 1.5p. Good news and good support I hope. Still on low volume, but hopefully we could see a rise from here. Anyone on here with candle experience? Pete. | petersinthemarket
23/2/2014 14:27 | Many thanks for posting the links Berny3. | charaxes1
22/2/2014 07:16 | I would not be overly concerned about fluctuations in the share price over the short term. There is a lot going on with the company and its products. | berny3
21/2/2014 17:09 | You can't react to every share price move like it's the end of the world ... unless of course it is! | altcell
21/2/2014 16:01 | Not that scary. Still up 100% since last summer... | buoycat
21/2/2014 13:31 | Agree Pete. Fingers poised on sell but have re-read all my research notes on company and still come to same conclusion, this is still buy and hold for me imo. Seems like they are waiting for bored or scared to jump ship. Dyor | moomintu
21/2/2014 12:42 | Difficult day for those keeping the faith, but I'm in too deep to run. IMO it will stay this scary until we get some good news to prop share price up. pete | petersinthemarket
19/2/2014 06:40 | keep up the good work charaxes, there's a limit to the effect my consumption has on the share price :) | fegga
19/2/2014 02:25 | Any jobs going Charaxes? Do you also supply biscuits for meetings and what types? | deanowls
18/2/2014 22:01 | I have been trying to do my bit by buying cases of the rum and vodka as gifts for staff. Two cases of each so far this year. | charaxes1 |
