Shares never head in a straight line and some have CGT gains to bank before the tax year end. Not me, I still like the prospects.

Perhaps somebody is expecting a placing to fund the next dramatic growth phase?

Why do you suspect it could turn sour? I assume you have read their plans and seen their recent progress into new market areas? Not a flippant question. Serious query. rgds, pete

tempted to add a few, but don't want to hold too many in an illiquid AIM stock....cos if it does turn sour, you can't sell for love nor money.

Dip is a bit disappointing, given recent short but confident trading update. However, it will be temporary and not a serious issue IMO. There has been a sort of baseline around 1.65 since last November (with one quite obvious dip in the middle) and I see no real reason for any sustained fall. Quite a few shares have been a bit volatile during January. The main picture for BES is still the same. IMO the long term future for BES is excellent. Despite my normal impatience, I intend to remain patient for the long haul here.

The share price drop today seems to be triggered by a 540k share sell at 8.36am.
Can't see any other detrimental reason for the drop.

DG said in the trading update "the company is now financially robust". You can't really say something like that and then follow it up with a placement! Well, you can of course, but it would certainly be disingenuous and discrediting.

The fall is completely out of kilter with the volume. It's just MM's trying to shake things up

I bought in at 1.9p so not exactly over the moon so far. T/S read well and I'm in for the long haul so I'm hoping any bounce back will be just as sharp.

I wonder where the market is headed this week!

Not long to break even anyway, then we are up and away I think ;-)

Peter, they say they expect to reach break even soon, that is the first sentence of the RNS so it is a massive aim for the BOD, therefore I fully expect them to RNS the event when it happens. That event is not a regular quarterly reporting RNS, it is a special significant event, something that should be an RNS according to the market rules.

>>>SueYou1 - completely agreed. However the issue here is that BES regulatory announcements are not planned to come until sept and/or nov. This is way too long for some to wait. It would be helpful if we had one or more trading updates before then, but I draw your attention to previous notes on this thread where the company implied that they did not intend to offer quarterly statements. I have asked them if they might consider at least an occasional one-liner but I guess it is up to them to decide whether there is anything particularly meaningful to announce. For myself,I recognize BES as a potentially very lucrative long haul stock and barring adverse news I will stay in for the long haul. GL all, pete

fwiw the transactions at 8.40am and 9.24am for 50k (1.81) and 100k (1.82) were both buys (mine). since they straddle the 900k trade, the chances are that it was also a buy.

The financial year ends on 31 March 2013.

The very first sentence in the RNS is "The Group has continued to trade strongly and remains on track to achieve monthly break even by the early part of the financial year."

I think it is of the greatest significance that they put that sentence in the RNS at the very beginning. Anyone not in when BES announces profitability will be missing out on a significant upside swing IMVHO.

Managed to pick up some more today. The share price helpfully stalled a little, probably due to a small number of speculators selling on the news, but I don't believe this low share price will hold for long. pete
